How do you deal with Veronica + dancer in AR?

I've found a solution every time so far, and I'm honestly not sure how. Every solution has been improvised, and I feel like I'm being reckless and silly not to prepare a hard counter. I have a few ideas (such as my raven tome H.Henry +def that tanks every version of Reinhardt+Lyn) but I'm looking for better, especially when it comes to how I take her out once I've drawn her forward. Any volunteers?

I'd probably run a raventome res tank but things might get sketchy if Veronica decides to target someone else after being danced. As for killing her afterwards, i'd say an anti cav weapon or someone who can either guarantee doubles or is just fast enough to double her.

On a bad day I may have to take four hits with Nowi or Fae and hope I live...

Report

I do too but she has warding breath and is +10. I usually let Fae take the hit tho, depending on speed

Nowi has 39 but Fae has 35. But, I did sacrifice a kana to Fae to help Nowi, assuming Aversa isn’t in town

Report

I haven't encountered this myself and I haven't encountered Lynhardt much. (Fortunately)

So, I'll tell a different story.

I found a team where there were two Reins (Both blue) and two Olwens (One Blue, One Green) all trapped in a 2x2 box. There were cavalry buffs, chills, everything. Let's just say that...

...Aversa helps...

...A LOT.

What other thoughts you have Seeker? I admit this is an Achilles heel for me as well. Think I’ve died twice, once to that.

It's a headache is the first thing I'll say. Especially because my style tends to be passive and refuse to move rather than to blast everything to bits. I'm starting to think that the second style is more resource-efficient, but it definitely doesn't work without a tank when ranged horses are meta and defensive setups can use traps.

Someone showed me a Sheena in one of my questions last night with something like 45 res and distant def on top of it. Probably a fortress advantage in play. That will definitely tank as many hits as Veronica can make in one turn even with a dance. But I don't want to commit to that many merges when 3.0 is right around the corner.

In any version of arena I can pull Micaiah out. She'll tank two hits no problem and with death blow she will OHKO Veronica despite the buff/debuff. The same is not true when Veronica has a dancer right behind her.

I have LA Lyn and H.Henry +def -atk, both of whom should be able to tank Veronica despite a dance. LA Lyn also comes with guard so if Reinhardt comes charging in first he can't try to hit through with a quickened moonbow, and blue gift actually works nicely because it will ignore Veronica's self-buff. If I give Lyn brazen atk/res for a seal she definitely isn't going anywhere, but when it comes to cleaning up I'm not so confident, especially with the debuff on an atk bane.

I also have W.Chrom +spd -def, so if I refine the gift bag for res he actually has 36 res on enemy phase and if I give him brazen atk/res seal he goes up to 43. He also has 56 HP, so wary fighter is probably good through two rounds. And with the double brazen he has atk in the 60s even after the debuff so He probably ends her in one hit, or if I think it might be an issue I'll just give him glimmer and that will make real certain that she dies.

The other challenge is that Veronica's debuff is AoE, so I'll have a hard time hiding some unit and then running in to kill her off.

You may have heard my mention of Nowi and Fae. I used to have C.D. on Fae (for arena) but now DD for that reason in AR. No way to deal with Veronica and dancer in some circumstances they thsn taking the hit, but it sucks still, and you have to be ready to counterattack, and Veronica’s speed makes the follow up tough. That’s as close as I get to Sheena, and agree I don’t want to make a move until 3.0.

Funny, I have the same Henry. Good for Lyn and Rein obviously, and his Res is amazing so he could also take a Veronica hit. The -Atk hurts anyway and probably wouldn’t kill her even if he could retaliate. But you will need a follow up to kill V if you go with him.

On a side note I hate cavalry teams so hard to NOT kill them and get the aether pots. That’s also frustrating.

Let’s definitely talk after 3.0,you do good work Seeker and I’ll be listening. Maybe share a few ideas of my own when comes time.

Thanks for the encouragement

I just came up with the craziest idea, because we both have the atk bane and we're having issues getting to the aether pots. Suppose we put pass on Henry and our entire team looped around the other side, and get some galeforcer to clean up everyone except the dancer? That way Veronica gets trapped on our side of the map and Henry needs a few turns to kill her while we grab the aether. Probably doesn't work, but just maybe?

Keeping the last man alive is key, less movement they have like armor. Which is why I hate cav.

That could work with Henry but his movement could get him in trouble. Dude will need CD or DD for sure!

I think dragons work really well thanks to adaptative damage. I have been hable to KO her in a single hit with both mi tiki and my myrrh, but i belive fast dragons like AFcorrin, all young tikis and maybe normal corrin should be able to.
Otherwise,a rchers also seem like a good match since her def isnt that good. The main problem i find is letting her hit and buffing everyone, if that happens it tends to need 2 attacks to deal with her, and thats when things get annoying.

Report

micaiah pretty much facetank veronica and dispose her next turn.
but I ran galeforce now, it's so much easier to win offense with galeforce.

Report

Tanking her with +spd -def Sheena +10 (after she got already danced) or rushing in and killing her with budget Klein brave bow +1 or our savior Rein +10.
Tactic build (offense) also limits every <40 hp unit to 1 movement.
Thanks to that i've won many healers / brave lyns.
