Are merge stat increases the same for all units, and if so, what are they?
I think that they increase depending on the unit's stats. They start from the bigger stat and they go in pairs.
For example if a unit has hp20 atk8 spd7 def9 res5, with the first merge the stats will grow +1hp and +1def. Then with the second one, +1atk and +1spd.

It's also the units level 1 stats that define the order. Some start with a stat low and end with it high, Myrrh has higher Res then Def at level 1 but at level 40 her Def will be higher than Res (unless she is +Res -Def) so merging her will get +1 Hp and Res. I have her at +1 and was surprised by her getting 1 Res instead of Def so looked it up.
All merges follow the same pattern: the first will increase the 2 highest base stats, the second will increase the next 2 highest, the third will increase the lowest and the highest again. +5 will increase the base stats by a total of 2 each and +10 will increase them by 4.
