How do merge stat increase work? Are they super effective?

For example i Have a +Atk sothe who has no merges
If i give him 10 merges will he get 10 random stats versus 10+ atk sothe for +10 more atk?

Every merge will give you 2 points in different stats, at +5 your charcter will have +2 on every stat and at +10 will have +4 in every stat. IVs don't change where points are allocated when you merge

Hi there!
Merges increase a unit's BST by 2 each time. This is how they work.
1st merge: The 2 highest stats are increased by 1.
2nd merge: The 3rd and 4th highest stats are increased by 1.
3rd merge: The lowest and highest stats are increased by 1.
4th merge: The 2nd and 3rd highest stats are increased by 1...
etc.
This is calculated as if no skills or seals are equipped on the unit.
When you reach 10 merges, all stats will have been increased by 4.

It does matter because you increase every stat by 4, the IV difference will still be there. A +atk Lucina would have 57 atk when +10. A neutral one would have 54.
