I feel like people ever rarely do Quad builds with them (which is what I tend to go for). I know Brave > Death Blow was more of a thing, though that requires someone with considerable Atk power. I'm also hardly ever seeing Cordelia, who is still very powerful even if Lyn exists.
Yeah, I know Lyn is a pretty staple archer. I actually never got one because it feels kind of boring since everyone uses her just because she's good. It's obvious she's obscenely good, fitting into every one as these roles. And as for Firesweep archers...I don't see much of a point unless they happen to have really high Atk & Spd (which just brings you back to these two).
Guard Bow is pretty much entitled to Faye, really. I really like this role, but she pretty much monopolises it. Niles and Innes are made out of paper and Rebecca's mixed bulk isn't nearly as good.
These days archers rarely run anything but brave and firesweep. But some archers can still be good without. Take fallen takumi with his skadi and high speed as an example. Helped me clear many maps. Though I will agree that archers can get pretty boring. Hell, my best archer is a +att brave bow Roy
I don't think they're boring. I like a few of them, but have trouble finding the right role for them.

Building a 4*++++ merge for her. Haven't looked too much into her Guard Bow setup, but I might just take a +Spd and build her into a quad monster. We're looking at around 45 Spd before buffs......and 41 Atk, but whatever.
Niles:
I've wanted to use this one for a while, but he kind of makes it hard to place into a category. He can tank magic........and that's about it? He's not as fast as you'd think he be, especially in regards to Quad Mode (what I'd love to do someday). He's probably not strong enough (low Atk) for Slaying Bow > Iceberg to seal kills; and Glacies would take an extra round? Guard Bow? Too defensive for him, I feel. Range-locked, force...without the benefit of mixed bulk (see: Faye)
I don't know. I might just be putting excuses, here. Do correct me if I'm wrong.

Heavily, heavily considering a Close Counter build, at some point. Other than that, that's probably all he'd be good at. May as well not even be ranged? I'll build him some day, regardless.

Somewhat of a lesser Gaggles in terms of bulks (less HP & Def, same crappy Res). Probably the best Brave > Death Blow user, meaning he's probably take Brash Assasult > Desperation, too.
Then there's Quadsuna, who I'm also building a 4*+++++ out of.
Build Jeorge with his refined legendary weapon, if you give him L&D he actually becomes extremely strong. He was much stronger that I expected (and very fun). And who said brave bow and firesweep are the only weapons used (Although they are still used the most). Slaying bow and Guard both can have their own uses. As for guard bow builds, Jakob and Roy work with it better than faye in my opinion.
Tell me more about Jeorge. I nailed a *5 version of him some time ago, but never trained him.
Talking about Jeorge, I also got a +Spd Takumi which I'm planning to build into either Slaying Bow or Brave. Also thought of mixing in Heavy Blade, but apparently his Atk drops below 50 with Slaying Bow, and he may need Fuujin Yumi for it.
And, yeah. Those kind of do outclass her.
If you were to invest invest heavily on Joerge he actually becomes pretty useful.
Looking at his stats he isn't that good offensively compared to others like Bridelia or Innes, however his weapon gives him this niche that makes him stand out from other archers. With his weapon refined, the first mage hit damage will be reduced by 30% (similar to Leo). He can survive most mages even with life and death. His affect also give him +6 atk against range units (daggers bowers, staffs and mages), making him a good mage check. As for his ivs, + Spd is always nice to have, however if you don't plan on merging him then go + Atk.
Jeorge can be built as follows.
Ivs (+Atk, -Def)
Weapon: Parthia (effect)
Assist skill: Duo Rally
Special skills: Glimmer
A skill: Life and death (fury can work too)
B skill: Vantage
C skill: Any
S seal: +3 Atk
With up atk ivs, life and death, and atk seal, Jeorge can reach an atk of 63 agianst ranged units! Not many ranged can survive that attack.
His weapon helps him tank his first hit against mages. Then any other ranged unit will get destroyed if Jeorge attacks or gets attacked thanks to vantage, because of vantage and glimmer.
I found Jeorge very useful in Grand conquests and rival domains, and he is still a viable arena user. Jeorge isn't as top tier as Blyn or Bridelia, but I can assure you that he is the most unique and funnest archer to play with. Hope you see my long message (I worked a lot on it)

I agree with you on Lyn. I don't really use her cuz everyone uses her to the point that every arena run I do I'd see her.
For me honestly my best bow unit is would be -atk +res LA!Roy. dunno why but i gave him a guard bow (res) and mirror strike and DD3 seal. he eats mages and bow users alike (wish i could pass him guard so any range unit would tickle him)
I'd like to try firesweep build at least once cuz i have a spare faye with really awful ivs (+atk +hp) but yea still haven't gotten any +atk nor +spd good bow units
Get him Close Counter, if you can. I built my Faye on that, but even though she's -Atk, she's also +Def. This means, that with the right setup, she can do like 40 out of an Ignis (which is mine also has Slaying Bow). Roy is lucky for better bulk *and* Atk...with Cavalry Buffs.
I’m with ya. The only good archer I have is Lyn, I’ve ran quad build and fire sweep build with her but that’s about it. I’ve had a 5* Rebecca, Takumi, and NY Corrin just rotting in my barracks. I guess I’ve never really had much interest in archers since Hinoka, Jakob, Bridellia and Innes never came home for me
