Hinoka's Spear
Anyone have good experience converting Hinoka from a Brave user to her unique weapon? I've had a +spd IV on her which is much less optimal for her Brave set, so I'm thinking of switching her over to her new spear build, where the +spd can really shine. I'd be happy forging it for the flier formation effect, or even just pumping up more speed. Both seem good.
However, I just pulled a +atk IV which is more ideal for her Brave set. I won't keep both, so now I'm conflicted on which build is better. +spd with spear? or +atk with Brave?
I really only ever use her in a Flier emblem, if that makes a difference.

Let me tell you, my experience with my Hinoka has been terrible till now due to the fact I got her with terrible IVs +HP -Spd, but at the time, I didn't know IVs existed, so I used her. Her spear literally fixed her, so I've really enjoyed the weapon because even a bad Hinoka like mine can be a destructive force (she also has Fury to destroy her enemies). So if you're gonna use her mostly in flier emblem, I recommend you to keep the +Spd one and give her Hinoka's spear. You won't regret it. Although, if you feel like Hinoka doing quads (if it's possible for yours) and always doubling in Player phase is more effective, then keep the Brave Lance, and use the +Atk one.

What u have to understand is that...her brave build is inferior to others. The only things shes got going for her is that she already has the weapon.
Myself have a +spd -??? (not atk so dont care) and shes awesome. With a single goad fliers ally she can reach 46-48 spd (fury/LnD) which is crazy.
If u really do plan to use her with fliers, esp a goad fliers team then she really wont need the extra spd and u can go with the +atk one(spd is still reconded tho). And i dont think her refine is all that necessary. Its good but....divine dew is too PRECIOUS. unless shes ur waifu of course.

I’d actually recommend the +atk with her prf spear over +Spd. Hinoka can hit really hard with her spear, and merged with her speed counterpart only hits harder. Running her in flier emblem with a solid set of skills, she can hit astronomical attack and speed (70+ attack and 50+ speed), enough to make Cordelia and Tana feel like an afterthought. And that’s before considering a refinement.

Ouch. The speed bane is painful.
+atk-anything else would have made her a force, and likely to oneshot many units, killing the others she can’t on the follow up. But -speed is gonna kill her ability to follow up unless you slap a speed seal on her to neutralize the bane.
Although even a speed bane wouldn’t be the death of her. If you run her in a quad goad squad, she would get a +16 atk/Spd boost from having 3 teammates near her, along with a support buff if her ally support is adjacent, plus the extra point of attack through the merge, still pushing her stat line to an insane 73 attack and 47 speed, not considering any other skills. If you slap life and death on her, it becomes 78/52, fury still pushes it to 76/50, and a seal on her can push her speed to 53, or her attack to 79 (81/55 with LnD). Those numbers are only usually attainable by bladetome users. And if you swapped a hone fliers in for a single goad, Hinoka could max out her potential at 83/57 with LnD, 81/55 with fury. But the median range seems to be in the mid to upper 70s attack and low 50s for speed, still enough to kill any red unit she could face, including a oneshot on Zephiel, and enough to kill almost any blue unit along with many greens.

Tsk....."neutralize the bane". U gotta work with the stats not just patch them up -_-
Like.....if going for the +atk -spd hinoka then brash assault is better as it allows her to hit through wary fighter armours with her massive atk....kinda niche but it allows her to not have to relly on goad/hone stacking as much.

Apparently some people don’t agree with you saying that.
Even without anything special to “patch up” her speed, she can easily exceed 45 speed, and get in the 50s while exceeding 70 attack.
The only wary fighter unit she would have to avoid is Effie. If Hinoka can boost up to 78 attack (which she can do, I’ve done it on mine), she can oneshot Zephiel. Desperation is better for her B skill, maybe brash assault seal to allow for late game double striking no matter what, but an attack boon is a lot better when you’re talking about a unit that can not only double super fast swords like Ayra and Mia, but she would oneshot them regardless. Boosting that attack higher turns her into a fully loaded cannon, and even running a special like glimmer would add extra firepower, making her win any matchup she would double in.

Ok lets talk offensive stats here.
Neutral hinoka: 35+32 =67
+atk-spd =38+29=67
+spd= 35+35= 70
Now
+atk -spd and +spd seal= 38+32= 70
+atk -spd and +atk seal= 41 +29= 70
+spd and +atk seal= 38+35= 73
Like i said....patching up is always a lazy idea....u gotta work with the stats u have. And why i think +spd hinoka is better than +atk. Except when she has an atk seal on top of the +atk.
What i like to go for units is consistency and versatility. Ye the plus atk can reach pretty high levels of spd BUT, she will take way more positioning play, than the +spd hinoka. Meanwhile, + spd hinokas too reaches absurd amounts of atk, if neeed be. to the point where only wary fighter units will give her a problem.

Her refined weapon is much better on her IMO. She can self Goad and give all fliers and infantry withing 2 spaces the ability to effectively use wing formation. In flier emblem, that means her teammates can just swarm around her easily to get their hone buffs. This way she fulfills a solid role only she can perform since Cordelia and Tana are much more suited to be the offensive lance fliers.
