Help me rethink my Donnel build!

Donnel is currently my main merge project (I use that term losely, considering he barely has any merges). I have him as a mage tank with Berkuts Lance and DC and he worked pretty well for a while. I had originally planned to keep him this way all the way to +10, but now his damage output is falling behind, and it's also just getting kinda boring. I would like to keep DC and Aether if at all possible, for arena when he's actually finished, but what would be some alternative builds to make him more effective?

Well if he's bored of sitting around waiting for mages to impale themselves on his Berkut's lance, he can go back to his simple roots, pick up that brave lance+ and death blow, maybe a brash assault or breaker. For even more firepower, atk+3 sacred seal. RAWR.

But wow, I didn't realize he could tank magic that hard. Does he wreck Nowi and Tiki too?

If you have spare W!Robins, you could try giving him Tannenboom!+ for a more balanced stat gain on the enemy phase. Otherwise you could do something with Harmonic Lance+ and Heavy Blade seal for super powered Aether procs. Also if his damage is falling behind, merging him more will help him to catch up, so I wouldn't just give up on the merge project.
