Help me rationalise this

I have only one Hector, +spd -def. Not a fantastic nature really, 28 spd and 34 def. I have a +res -hp winter Chrom that I've weapon forged to be +def, he has better stats now in every regard that matters. The only thing holding me back is Armads (QR+Vantage is so nice) and the fact that he's the only Hector I've ever gotten. Should I go for it? I really can't decide if it's worth it or if I'll regret it.

not worth it, chrom can still be used without DC so it would be better to have a usable chrom AND hector, rather than just a chrom

I have a +Spd -Hp hector which is definitely much better than a -atk one, but I have to say people vastly underestimate the spd he can reach with buffs. He can avoid doubles from a lot of good units, and the ones he misses out on will probably be ones most miss out on. He's really mostly there to take on archers, maybe blue mages, and maybe slow green mages, which he can definitely do even with -def iv, like he doesn't even really need neutral def iv to take on archers or mages. With a Distant Def sacred seal, he can easily take on archers and mages imo.

Here's my +Spd Hector i've been using for a while, kind of my go-to reinhardt/archer/julia/deirdre check.

Also, he has a superboon in Speed, meaning he gets +4 spd as opposed to the usual +3. So like he has +1 more bst because of it, which is actually kinda nice for Arena Score.

Id save it for now. My arena team is Amelia, Effie, Sheena, and Hector but sub Hector out for whoever is the bonus for the week. Yes you are reading it clearly, I do not use any red armor heroes. Hopefully that can change when I get a favorable W.tharja, otherwise there isnt a red armor I prefer to use.

Hector is one of the top tier units in the game and is one of the better armor units for non-armor teams. However, if you're at a point where you're going for high merges, optimal builds, and have a unit you use a lot that you think really needs DC, I don't see the problem.

However, I wouldn't sacrifice a rare skill to put on a seasonal unit unless I anticipated being able to get him to a high merge level. If you use your armor team a lot, at some point you will be merging them and will probably start choosing those units over the others.
