His Tome's effect can easily be activated even with +atk you just need to go up against enimies with at least 52 atk (when not using his Fortess Def/Res skill) to get the effect, I'm not sure if in combat effects effects the tome's effect or not so I'm still not sure if Swift Sparrow is good with the tome or not

Report

DB3/SS2 don't effect his tome. His tome effect applies before the in combat buff does. With this said, you shouldn't go for SS2 as his speed is already too high to make use of more of it. DB3 adds on more wins.

Report

SS2 was more ment for a +Atk Kliff since 42 spd isn't going to help him double units like +0 Ayra (w/her blade) and Karla with base spd, SS2 will bring his spd to 46 alowing him to double them

Report

You're forgetting chill speed. 44 - 37. Kliff has a natural speed of 42 with his weapon meaning she HAS to run LnD to avoid the double. She will probably still die if she runs that though.

Report

I've never seen a Ayra or Karla use L&D because SS2 works just fine with them without losing their bulk, and also that's a plying you decide to use Chill Spd, Chill Res can help him just as much as Chill Spd (probably even more since it helps his damage)

Report

Res ploy wouldn't work that well on him if he's running anything other than Fortress Def/Res since 28 res isn't great for Ploy's, and the build I was referring to is a SS2 build so chill spd would help with his rather low atk so he can deal better damage to highier res units, am I saying it's the best, No. I mean hell the build I plan on doing is just making him a pure tank with -res +atk cuz I can care less about the -atk on him

Report

ooo

If that's the case maybe? My problem with Chill Res is he needs the -Res on most people he comes across and Chill will only work on the highest Res opponent. Could still work, tell me how it works out

Report

If I ever get the damn guy (my luck isn't going so well atm) and a spare chill res, then again I could always use him on a team with Ophelia since I'd have both chill res and spd

Report

It wouldn't even be redunant because of how tanky he is. I say go for it (Also I run +Res on my DB3 Res Ploy set so maybe that's why I was thrown off)

Report

FIrst, don't use Atk Ploy as it'll cancel out the effect of his tome very often. Res Ploy is probably going to be his best. I'm also gonna write up a bunch of builds for him in a short while so I'll link you the post after it's made :)

Depending on where you rank in Arena / Arena Assault, Kliff's weapon will activate pretty reliably. (For example, I face a lot of +10 Armor with 60+ Atk so Sagittae's effect would proc very reliably even with a +Atk boon on Kliff.) Also, I don't think that 44 Neutral Atk (with Fort Def/Res 3, that drops to 42 Atk) is that high, so Kliff should be activating Sagittae pretty reliably against most base Melee DC units.

Anyway, for build ideas involving Sagittae and Fort Def/Res, I think that he makes great use of Res Ploy to deal more damage. 34 Neutral Res is pretty great for applying Ploy debuffs reliably, and Ploy support is always nice utility for the rest of your team.

If you rather not run Sagittae over the Blarowl set, it might be a good idea to replace the C-Slot and seal for other options. (I don't think Res +3 is that good of a seal; if you need Ploy support, I'd rather have someone else on the team who doesn't need to sacrifice a seal slot provide it.) Atk Smoke + Distant Def is great if you want to turn him into a Ranged magic tank.

Finished my write up of his best builds. Tell me what you think. And your Kliff's ivs will suffice for any of the builds I listed.

If you don't like playing with low atk, I suggest you stay away from this character. Switching out his tome actually leaves him with even lower atk. You can use atk/res bond with the prf if you want; the atk from the bond will not count towards the comparison that determines whether the weapon's effect activates. But I think that flashing blade iceberg/bonfire or special spiral glacies/ignis is his best try for damage output, combined with res ploy. And it actually wins a lot of matchups - often rather marginally, but a lot of them.

That said, if you insist on switching out his weapon, given your IVs you found a pretty good build.
