got EXTREMELY lucky and pulled a +atk (-hp) hrid today. an ares has been sitting in my barracks for a while and im thinking of putting brazen atk/def on niflboy for 67 atk/43 def, but im afraid that it’ll clash with freezing seal esp since he’s -hp? would sturdy blow/stance work better seeing as its not as situational? don’t really want to keep dc on him and i kinda wanna do more of a player phase/mixed phase build seeing as he’s a cav. would appreciate any opinions, but other build ideas would also be great!
IMO, DB4 is probably better than Sturdy Blow, if you really want a tanky DC fodder, then give him Sturdy Stance 4. One is player phase where as the other is enemy phase (he is best utilized as a player phase though)
Also do you have somebody to debuff on your team? If so then you might want to change out his B slot for desperation/Vantage (Player phase enemy phase)
unfortunately i dont have a celica to fodder for db4, which was why i was contemplating sturdy blow over it hahah. and yeah, i don’t really want to make hrid an enemy phase unit, he’s better off offensive imo. i’d just like to utilize his good def, and being able to tank a few hits is always useful.
i’m currently running him on my nifl team with gunnthra debuffing, so i might take your advice and switch out freezing seal for vantage and give him brazen! would prolly have to change his build if i want to run him in my main horse team but thats not currently a problem lmao. thanks for the help!
It's best to play around his ability to tank. You already have 60 damage that will double them. You're going to be killing just about everyone who has less than 35 defense when you attack them. Probably more if you debuff their defenses too. So maybe a DD3 seal will be better.
yeah i’m running dd3 on him rn seeing as he still has his base kit as of now! i want to make him a player phase unit though. i was thinking something among the lines of galeforce/heavy blade seal, but im not sure how to go about it tbh. sturdy blow would allow him to tank counters better and a little more atk definitely won’t hurt when he’s fighting monsters like surtr.
