Hector -hp +res viable?

So while I was trying to pull for a Minerva in the life and death banner I ended up pulling a hector instead with -hp +res are these IVs workable ?

Definitely. If it's bothering you just give him a +3 HP seal and that will be fixed. It's not as bad as -Atk/-Def, -Def really hurt my Hector when it came to archers

Hector can make the most out of any stat really.
+Res/-Hp will make him way better at baiting the blue mage meta, like Bladetomes/DireThunder.
Although it will not make him survive double-hit from green mage (Merric/Julia/Soren) he will be more likely to survive green blade nukers like Nino, Sonya and S!Elise.

Basically, it will be a very valuable ally to have in your team if you don't have better answer for Blue/Green mages.

Besides that, Hector is a slow, armored units, he will require a very balanced team, to be used to his best potential.

I personally pulled 2 Hector when I started the game 2months ago, he helped me quite a lot so far. He is also very valuable for skill inherance, for Distant Counter, but if you are a FE7 too, it's not a thinkable thing to do, right !?

Hm I don't get why you put merric/ julia / soren as double hit unit while they are much slower than nino, sonya and s elise. It's more the other way around. He will still have hard time dealing with blade nuke double hitter than the others.

Reason: Hector is slow (24) and his A skill is pretty much locked to distant counter, so merric/julia/soren can generally double him, and nino/sonya/s!elise are expected to die on the first counterattack before they can use their speed (AI won't set up Desperation)

I have the same Hector as you and literally the -HP bane isn't exactly a bane if you equip the +3 HP seal. So I'd say still use him, he's a very powerful hero.

It's pretty much a neutral Hector. Better at taking a magic hit or two and bane easily fixed up with HP seal (or not, just run something else if you want, it's not a big deal). Hector's a strong unit and the IV doean't really hurt him.

Hector's Strengths outweigh the downside of literally any boon/bane combination he can even make use of +speed to avoid doubles from leo and a few other units lol just gotta deal with that 1 movment

Hector's HP with a bane is 49. That's still a messload of HP. That's his best bane in general since it nary does a thing to his bulk. I have mine with +Speed. With armor buffs, he reaches 36 speed, which is awesome facing off with a lot of neutral speed mages who are meant to be a glass canon.

Anyway, with the rise of heavy hitting blue mages, Hector has absolutely no problem bringing in the pain and the +Res will make it all the more while.
