[Heavy Blade]

Does Heavy Blade 1 trigger when the foe initiates an attack? Please help me! Thanks all!

Yes. It doesn't specify that you have to initiate the attack, it just says that you have to have more attack than your opponent...

Or at least it should, to be honest I've never really payed attention to Heavy Blade on enemy phase. xD

I think so, too. But a few minutes ago, I saw it didn't trigger T_T. Before the combat, my Tiki has 58 Atk (+6 from Atk Tactic) and the foe has 42 Atk (-7 from Chill Atk). Where is the problem? :"<

Actually, now that I'm testing it, I don't think it does. It only works on player phase. My Linus was attacked by a Gwendolyn and it didn't reduce the cooldown like normal.

This is what I found while searching..

"When you get hit, cooldown -1 (same as if you did not have the skill).

When you hit the enemy, cooldown -2.

A special will not activate when the cooldown counter is at 1. When you attack when the counter is at 1, the cooldown will go down to zero but the special will not have activated."

Testing it further, and it seems it only reduces the cooldown by an extra amount on player phase, not enemy phase.

This is an example from the same site.

"It is Enemy Phase and Ike gets attacked by an enemy who doubles.

Ike has Quick Riposte.

Ike's cooldown starts at 5 on Aether.

Ike gets hit. Cooldown = 4.

Ike counterattacks. Cooldown = 2.

Ike gets hit. Cooldown = 1.

Ike counterattacks. Cooldown = 0 but Aether does not activate. It will activate when he next attacks something."

So it only reduces "when attacking" so it works on both phases, but only if you attack. If a healer attacks a unit with Heavy Blade, then Heavy Blade won't trigger (unless they have Distant Counter and the healer doesn't have Dazzling Staff).

Yay for reading. xD

Krazytre is correct. Heavy Blade only works when your unit is attacking, whether that be initiating said attack or retaliating to an attack. I'll be sure to test it a bit to be sure, myself.

It triggers when your unit, with higher attack than the foe, makes any attack, initiating or countering. It’s how my Michalis can activate Ignis against foes with less attack than him on enemy phase. The charge goes 3-2-ready-KABOOM.
