The Healer Drought

What is with the lack of new healers in the game? Like, I know they aren't the best units, but come on. The last healer we got was Nanna, and she turned out to be pretty decent. But even before we finally got her, there was a big healer drought. The last one that came out prior was a sheep and after that, new healers just seemed to vanish until Nanna. Why don't they release more new ones? There are so many healers in the series who aren't in.
Silque, Tatiana, Ellen, Natasha, Lena, Elice (not to be confused with Elise), or Mitama (tho I feel like Mitama would have a bow).
Even some characters could have alts to be a healer like Elincia, Faye, Felicia, L'Arachel, or potentially anyone with Summer, Valentine, Winter, Halloween, or New Year alts.
But instead IS just seems to neglect new healers. Why do you think that is? Is it because there's not enough staffs in the series. I don't think so, they could easily rerun a staff on a new healer. Is it because they're not that popular? Well, maybe, but healers can be almost essential in a tough fight.
Idk. What do you guys think?

I think it's simply caused by the fact, that a very small number of people will be excited by a new healer, unless it's something absurdly powerful (like if they released Loki). The same healers with 1-2 stat differences are really nothing to care about and the lack of prf weapons just further cements their place, because prf weapons would at least give healers some individuality, which is something that they are severely lacking right now.

Healers are in a weird place in this game - the devs don't give them many useful skills (compare it to main heroes of some banners who come with a full skillset), so you have to inherit a lot, but you can inherit only a fraction of skills that are in the game, and those that you can inherit tend to be some of the quite rare skills. Why bother investing so much? Unless you care for these units a lot, you will not give them those heavy investment skills to make them really strong and I imagine that not many people care for them a lot, because they would rather invest the rare sklil into a hero, who can use it to one-shot its opponent, because why heal or offer some utility, when you can just kill?

Basically, a strong, fully decked-out healer has to be released in order to breathe some life into this whole class. They have to release a legendary healer eventually.

I think you're right that they are less popular due to the limitation of the skills they can have and thus their usefulness. Mounted healers (just Elise really) are the main ones I find useful due to the class buffs and movements so if we ever see a flying healer (Falcon Knight Sumi would be nice) or an armored one that may interest more people. And Loki, many would go nuts for her.

It would be good to see healers as alts, sexy nurse Orochi for Haloween anyone? I was hoping she'd be a witch last year but we got a hide-the-screen-on-the-train Nowi instead.

Imagine explaining that afterwards: "No it's not hentai and definitely not child exploitation! Please, don't call the cops!"

It is a problem...but I think they will come. IS has been focused on making non-bravebow archers and daggers more viable. Eventually they'll do the same for healers (hopefully in a hyper support sort of way). It's kind of silly that we haven't seen a legendary staff yet despite the many awesome ones in the games.

The sister of Fjorm introduced as a story NPC a few updates back could become a legendary healer character. To set her apart, they could make her a flier.

(That would leave the door open for Fjorm’s brother to be a legendary red armored unit. Together, the family would cover every move type and color.)
