Hawkeye

Is a +res -def Hawkeye still viable?
I can see +res working, but -def? Will he survive against Brave Axe with that bane, or am I just giving him too much expectations?
I never seen people building him, so I don't have much references about him, though know that Bravart and Ryu wrote about him, if someone can link me to their theorycraft threads, I'll be really grateful

Hawkeye is really challenging to make viable. I know, I've been trying for a long time - he was one of my first 5* units and I want him to make use of him. He also has a very unique stat-line, basically he's a lot like Sheena but with lower speed and better attack. So he should be good at tanking but that low speed... Tsk. Any Hawkeye project is probably going to be long-term as a lot of inheritance is involved.

Ryu's build uses Distant Counter which makes it a non-option for me.

His uniqueness is what drives me to keep him, actually
Many people likes to throw him aside including me in the past, because I thought he is trash tier, but after meeting his variants in the past Tempest Trials, everything just changed, aside from speed he is really bulky both physically and magically, as for his low speed, I think as long as he has enough HP to survive, he can kill in counter attacks

I've read Bravart and Ryu's build, thank you for the link, really, I've gained a lot of insight
Though problem remains that my -Def wouldn't be able to do as great using Bravart's guide, and of course DC is out of the question, I never pulled a single Hector in my life

To be honest, I've been playing around with Ignis Boey for a while, letting the enemy come to him, hit him for a single digit dmg, when Ignis is charged, kill the enemy with it, it works well with Boey so far, and maybe I'll try to adapt the same strategy to Hawkeye
I'm even thinking to give him a spare Berkut for Water Boost to make this works or Earth Boost
Unlike Boey who has no access to Killing weapons, Hawkeye does, he can activate Glacies or Chilling Wind after being doubled once with Slaying Axe and Quickened Pulse
This is crazy, but hey, it works, somehow, haha

Also, 33 res is enough for my Sonya to tank kill QP Moonbow Reinhardt, it's the reason why I think giving him Earth Boost is an option to increase his tank potential
