Has anyone tried TA on Xander?

I was thinking of making my Xander more specialised on one thing rather than giving him Fury, which is baiting green units especially those blademages(such as nino, camilla, cecilia, etc)

For that purpose, I wanna hear people's opinion especially those who have tried this build. Thanks in advance!

TA Xander trades his ability to deal with lance users for a damage reduction from incoming green mages. His performance against red becomes slightly worse as well. I cannot recommend TA unless you are certain you can prevent blue units from confronting him, but I hear he looks good in a pair-up with Reinhardt.

Thanks for the reply!
For his matchups against red, I can give him either Swordbreaker or QR. That would help him, even though not much.

Yeah, I'm thinking of pairing him with Camus and Reinhardt, so that's why I wanted a green check

Im running ta2, he is pretty solid overall. Vs green mages he is much better, and take a lot more 0 dmgs from melee greens. He can still slay colorless and red with qr;
As long as u have reposition skills and have a little sense of strategy there is no need to fight blues at all.

I am running TA2 as I had no TA3s available, and he's an absolute monster with it. TA allows him to shrug off non-blade tome green mages for miniscule damage (with Fortify Cavalry) as opposed to being reduced to half health or lower with the standard Fury build. Meanwhile, Blade Tome mages are no longer threats to actually kill him. It also helps him deal with Fae. As an added bonus, even the mighty Hector can't even damage him without his special procing (or being heavily merged or boosted).

But that said, I'm running him with Reinhardt. You also have to be more aware of his position with that build.

He doesn't really need Swordbreaker against reds. Bait them with Quick Riposte and only extremely damage boosted Lucina and Ryoma or maybe Brave Sword users who can quad him are a threat to kill him. Even with Fury 3, it's a bad idea to use him to bait red mages as they'll leave him near dead at best.

Assess the pros and cons for your comp rather than what globally is considered better.
