Guide: Beat Alm/Falchions with Dragons
Did you heavily invest in dragons and witness it being obliterated with a certain refine? Did you encounter a red sword dude which you have no hope beating?
Fear not!
Here are some tips and tricks on how to beat the unbalanced crap called Falchions because for some reason all emblems already have shields of their type except for dragons.
1. Slap him first.
Alm's brave falchion only works on initiate. Nowi can safely slap him ahead and take little damage, ONLY if you have the Def to resist it. (We're talking about spurs, drives, Def refines, or Def boons)
2. Ploys, ploys, ploys.
What's that Atk Ploy seal lying around? No coins? Sack Oliver and give 'em to one of your dragons!
Attack Ploy is one of the most reliable counters to Alm, as it negates essentially 8 damage per hit towards Nowi! (7*1.5*0.8) Against a Quad Alm, that's 32 damage overall!
Edit: Miscalculation. It's 6 damage per hit, 24 total for blues. 30 damage total negated for red.
3. Swordbreaker
No need to explain. Grab that and place your QR3 as a seal instead.
Now, you can finally (hope to) beat Alm, and escape the clutches of these unbalanced patches...for now.
(Seriously IS, it's stupid for a unit do absolutely destroy a certain unit type of any color without reasonable counters. Iote's, Grani's and Svalinn exists for a reason, and we need one for dragons, too.)

Julia is a much bigger threat to dragons than Alm ever will be. The only thing my Julia cannot kill are high merge red dragons or TA red dragons. I’ve had her oneshot a max merged Nowi and a max merged Fae in the same player phase with a dancer. She makes quick work of Myrrh and kills Ninian in her sleep. Her and Fjorm together on my arena team kill every dragon, and Julia can tank dragons regularly.

...Yeah, it's not hard to kill Falchion users just because of refines. The AI in FEH tend to make dumb decisions based on what you do, like ram a red sword user into a blue lance unit just because the blue lancer has Firesweep when there's a green mage right next to them.
Everything you described, people should've already known about. No offense, but Step 1 shouldn't have been hard if people can actually read what the refinement says. 2, that comes down to what you're team utilizes. 3, people already run this....
And no, we don't need a dragon shield. The only melee weapon that counters dragons specifically is Falchion, and even then, it's not hard to work around it. If you're actually using Dragon Emblem, you could ram your Nowi into Alm and have nothing to worry about. I mean really, Draco's Shield, or whatever it would be called, doesn't need to be a thing.
-Flier Emblem has every bow unit in the game and Excalibur.
-Armor Emblem has Armorsmasher, Slaying Spear, Slaying Hammer, and Micaiah.
-Horse Emblem has all Wolf tomes, Zanbato, and Ridersbane.
And Dragon Emblem has.... the FEW sword units that CAN use Falchion, and the TWO units that can use (Divine)Naga, except for Myrrh for being a flying dragon.
Yeah, Dragon Emblem has absolutely no reason to need a shield.

Plus, if they do release a shield for dragons they'll have to sacrifice using Steady Breath and in Myrrh's case DC since it's A slot. Sacred Seal is better, but like the aforementioned, you'd sacrifice using something more useful to cover a weakness that only seven units out of the 219 that are currently in the game can exploit.

You're seriously bitching about this?
No offense, but every "type" has hard counters out there. Its only natural they would develop more dragon counters since dragons just got HUGE boosts. Naga tome users can't even compete with QR -> Refined breath targeting def now. This Alm upgrade was needed.
