Grima Robin is overrated just because of his attack and build creativity...

Besides his potential attack reaching toward 60 and more, people get hyped up just over his attack potential and want to put expensive skills as a way of showcasing him :/ Besides that, his stats are average for a armored dragon.

That is absolutely incorrect. His potential as a great unit is exceedingly well and so his his stat spread. I'm assuming you haven't even "used" one and just want to rant since you didn't roll one

No, the author makes a fair point. Yes, he is one of the Top 5 Green units in the game, that's undeniable.

However, take a moment to compare his defenses to Myrrh. She comes with 7 less base BST, but where does that BST go on Grima? To his HP and Attack, while Myrrh gets 4 more base Res and 1 more base Def than him, while losing 6 HP, which arguably is a less important stat than raw defenses. Not to mention her signature Breath, which denies opponents' counterrattacks, as those with enough Def to cancel the effect likely are slow bulky units akin to Myrrh, so they won't be able to double her anyway. She also makes up for her base Atk that starts 7 points lower than Robin's by getting +3 from her weapon and the same Def/Res bonus on ranged units.

In conclusion? Myrrh requires DC and Iote's Shield for her full potential, but with those two skills, she arguably outperforms Grima's raw attack, which still leaves him susceptible to Regnal Astra and Black Luna, which Myrrh can deny with her Great Flame.

I wrote some similar thoughts on Grobin vs Myrrh here: https://www.reddit.com/r/FireEmblemHeroes/comments/7zjb79/im_not_feeling_grobin_like_i_thought_i_would/

tl;dr: Myrrh fits in better in drag emblem. Myrrh is a top choice for flier emblem. GRobin faces competition for a green slot in armor emblem by other strong units. He's not a clear cut top choice like Myrrh but he is still very strong.

@OP: assuming you've pulled a GRobin and aren't feeling him, try glimmer/warding breath/wary fighter/CD3 or DD3 seal build. It'll give him new life.

Yeah but what about armor exclusive skills like VF. Also expiration can go to the lower of def or res. For a unit who has the highest(tied) atc in the game AND he has a super boon in that stat, that’s pretty freakin powerful.

Report

If you say so. His weapon "Expiration" combines counter vs. range with the "do damage using lower of foe's Def/Res". That's pretty powerful.

Yeah I'm salty that I didn't get one too, but he really does live up to the hype. I feel a little better about myself right now though since I have a +Spd -Res Alm on my team, who just brutally slaughters the dragons he encounters. :P

Nowi is the best blue in the game with 49 (+ATK) adaptive blue damage. Grima can hit 60 (+ATK) adaptive green damage and has more bulk than Nowi and access to Vengeful and Bold Fighter.

Despite having a ton of weaknesses (Falchion, naga, armor effective weapons, limited movement), he's still a great unit. I see more people fawning over his art rather than his strength, but his attack potential and all the builds you can give him only add to how great he can be. Grima works best with expensive skills, as do most units, so not much to expect there. He's not really average in any way, being the first of his kind. His attack and hp are massive, his defense and res not so much, but most enemies don't live to hit twice anyway so he doesn't take much damage. Slap aether on him and he's hell (like W!Tharja).

You know, I have a funny story to tell about when I took my Level 40 Grima into the VG. I was up against an Ephraim, Fjorm, and Myrrh. This Myrrh had Fury and Iote’s Shield, so my brave Lyn friend was pretty much useless.

So, naturally, I thought I was boned. Because not only did Fury up her stats, but Ephraim had his Lance buffing her AND he had Rally Def/Res. So, taking the tank dragon and making her defense even MORE powerful.

Instead of just surrendering, I went ahead and tried for the victory, like a crazy person. Grima took out Fjorm no problem, then I positioned him in front with B!Lyn below him and Hardin behind him.

Myrrh comes over, fully buffed, and hits Grima. He takes damage, but he’s okay. Grima’s Aether triggers....AND HE DESTROYED HER. One hit. That was it. She died FULLY BUFFED FROM EPHRAIM....in one hit. Now, I did have Warding Breath on Grima, so that helped him, but it just makes me chuckle to see that “oh, Myrrh’s better because of her defenses”. And you know what? Yeah, she has better defense. But Grima also has his strengths.

Each character is good depending on the builds you give them. I mean, i’ve Seen powerful Odin, and he doesn’t have the best Bst. But that doesn’t matter so long as you build them right.
