Grandmaster Tactic Drills

I know these are meant to be very hard but is it just me that is near incapable of doing them? I've attempted them all and I've only manage the first one without help from the internet. Some I've only been 1 move off of getting right which doesn't bother me much but Drill 5 I can't even survive the 2nd phase. Please tell me it's not just my general idiocy and these are bloody hard.

EDIT: I've now done them all. Map 1 with no assistance, very close ( only a move or 2 wrong) on 2, 3, 6 and 7 and I had no hope of doing 4, 5 and 8 myself.

I do like the mode but I do not enjoy sitting there for half an hour being repeatedly killed and being made to feel totally and utterly worthless because I'm too stupid to do something that I know it is doable.

These maps are meant to be challenging, and I admit that I need a hint for the Zelgius, Chrom, and healer challenges.

Part of the fun is trying to come up with the solutions on your own, and once you do, you feel really good about how well you played--at least, I did. Though, I do wish that IS implements some sort of hint system in-game so that some people aren't completely clueless even after trying a challenge a dozen tries. (And no, not the hints that the banners have; they are either too misleading--the Chrom and Zelgius one--or give the answer outright--the Roy one.)

A hint system would be nice, they give us a hint about the last turn but the first turn is pretty key to the whole thing. I've only looked up 2-4 so far but I feel I must be close to getting it right for Zelgius. Just looked up Chroms guide and there was no way I would have thought to start like that.

I think those are cool. At first I was a bit annoyed by the fact that there is only one possible answer for every map (with the exception of who gets the last kill in a couple of them) but all in all I think that makes them unique compared to the rest of the stuff in the game. I think the Black march map is the most confusing, and Lilina's rescue can be a bit tricky, but other than that those aren't that bad. Just be sure to check every character and every enemy unit to get an idea of where you should use support skills and calculate the damage trade between your units and the enemies.. Once you get that info, it's only a question of trial and error.

It pretty much comes down to trial and error in the end, because sometimes the enemy AI did things that I didn't really predict. If you plan your moves ahead and learn the AI patterns along the way whenever you fail, you can easily do it without help.
I'm about 3 maps from completing it all, because I only play it on poop breaks, so my progress is slow.
