Grail Usefulness - tierlist

Wanted to make a 'short' tierlist of whom I think are good picks for using grails on.
I won't go in depht on it in the post itself, but I'll check around if there are comments.

It's in part a way to organise my thoughts about it, and I'm just doing that publicly.

Note that I rate things for general use, not pure arena scoring

The tiers aren't straight up usefulness but have a few factors:
- Straight up power
- Does the unit have easy to get counterparts?
- Does the unit have anything unique?
- Benefit from extra stats.

What I don't rate is the chance of getting a refinement. But I will mark the units that I think are likely to get one with '*' and very likely with '**'

Linus in tier 1? Sure he is good and hot etc. but Raven in the 3* pool does the same job

They are different enough.
Linus has way better atk and def, while still having good speed.
Linus' raw stats are just amazing, no matter the refine on his weapon.

I kinda agree this. I mean, sure, you can +10 them but 3* - 4* hero seems to be less resource consuming than grinding Grails for 4-5 months.

Raven isnt hot

I demand that Legion gets into Tier 3 and here is why:

- Straight up power:

Legion has a good offensive stat spread and is better than any of the current Tier 4 Units on that list. It's not maybe the best, but definitely Tier 3 worthy.
He's maybe not the most tanky unit, but given his good offensive stats and nice HP Pool keeps him more alive than most of the other units.

- Does the unit have easy to get counterparts?

I admit that most red units can kill him without big problems, but getting killed by the opposing colour is probably the only thing that really keeps him down.
Not many green units can really compete with his stats and kit so I'll say that's Tier 3 worthy too.

- Does the unit have anything unique?

Build in Panic Ploy? I think that's unique. Sure Xander with DC in his weapon is unique too, but Panic Ploy needs you to position correctly to Ploy the enemies for good, I personally think that's Tier 3 worthy too.

- Benefit from extra stats.

(Not quiet sure what exactly is meant, but correct me if I'm wrong)
If you give him SS and +10 him, Legion is really scary because of his stat spread.
Xander can't even compete with Legion at that point.
Sure Xander is tankier against physical units, but Legion is tankier in generall.
He has way better offensive stats and has access to better movement class skills than Xander currently has.

So Legion should be atleast Tier 3, not the best but at the lower end of Tier 3 for sure.

Legion is one of the harder to rate (as is Linus)
Raven feels superior to Legion in pretty much any way, but Linus has the stats to surpass Raven in ways

But I guess he deserves at least some extra points for his amazing hp, that Raven lacks.

Let me make some adjustments.

Imo Josua could be promoted by 1 tier. His mixed AND high bulk offer him lot of potential on enemy phase builds. By merging him his spd improves and atk get even nicer

Josh has too spread out stats.
His bulk is decent, but not high.
His speed is just a little too low for player phase doubles.
And his atk is rather meh too.

Plus he doesn't have anything unique.
His weapon is just a res refined slaying edge that trades 5hp for 2 atk and 1 res.

If he gets a refine he'll likely shoot up in strength. But for now he's lacking.

Just wanted to mention it. I am biased towards Marisa and Joshua anyway so mevermind haha.

I love Joshua too. Just hoping they'll give him a worthy refine.

Seems about right. Though I'd personally swap Eliwood with BK.

I dunno about Eliwood. His def is just bad for a melee armor unit and his atk is lower than the common Effie.
Res is good, but not sky high.

The only thing Eli has going for him is speed. And 32 isn't super high.

BK is a monster.
Sure you can say there's Zelgius who's everything BK is but better. But good luck getting Zelgius with high merges.

Already got a Zelgius +4. I'll probably +10 him before I have enough grails to +10 any of the TT units. As for Eliwood:

I like the fury wrath idea.
With close def he should be able to take hits even at lower hp. Though, why silver lance? Slayer or berkut would be better.
It's not that Eliwood is weak, just that he has too heavy competition.

You might have a high merged Zelgius, but that doesn't count for everyone.

Pretty accurate list but imo LA!wood should be in tier 1 due to his versatility, and he makes use of every merges because of his balanced statline.

I explained above why I didn't put him in the top tier.
Though I he's still very good in my opinion.

Tier 1 and 2 are all amazing choices, depending on what you want/need

This is kinda right. On a budget at least. Max potential I think there's be some movement. Kana should probably be one higher regardless though
