Gordin good or nah?

I just pulled a good gordin (+attk, -hp) and was wondering if he was worth using since he is built like klein except with a lot less speed and a lil more hp and defense?

He's not in the top tier of archers but he's definitely a solid choice. One advantage of promoting him is that, if you pull a better archer down the road, you can always use him for Vantage/Brave Bow+ inheritance.

He's quite good with an atk boon with his Brave Bow and he has great defense as well for an archer. He's almost always getting doubled and mages willmurder him, but no archer or distant counter hero can 1 shot him and 2 hits with your stats would require 55 power to kill him without an A slot.

Give him Fury (yes i know but hear me out) to require 58 double hit damage to kill him and Bowbreaker. Now you can bait and kill literally any other archer, including Quad Cordelia or Brave Bow Lyn with Cavalry buffs (She hits 54 power at atk boon and L&D or 55 with Deathblow).

You can also attack people like Hector or other DC tanks safely since none of them unbuffed deal 58 damage per hit.

He has 44 x2 attack with his brave bow which is fine, but if you give him Bonfire or Ignis, suddenly you have 17 or 28 burst power when it triggers in combat.

His C slot can be any sort of support you like for you team, Threaten Defense to turn his attack into 49 x2 instead, or Savage Blow to soften them up for your allies instead. Atk Smoke works too if you really want to invest heavily in him as a battlefield control unit but it's far from mandatory.

Slaying Bow also works well with him as he can charge either special faster in battle without the speed penalty for more burst based damage instead of the brave bow double strikes if you prefer.

Support is flexible by your preference of position skills, and his Seal can also vary, but an Atk +1 seal is pretty solid as well, especially for Brave Bow+

I never heard of putting fury on an archer before, do like the sound of it since Gordin would be able to tank more physical hits. Thanks Ryu, will run the build suggested :D

I don't see the problem with Quad builds. They're self-explanatory, yeah, but that doesn't make them any less cool or flashy. I see it more as a problem when units with at least somewhat decent Atk are basically stapled to Braves. That's just lazy, even if it's objectively "better".

overall not the best archer, but still good(I am working on one +Atk -Spd)...
since he is not -Atk or -Def and he is +Atk and as native BraveBow/Bravebow+ user, the unit can be good.

He's lowkey really good. +Atk is just what you want, but I'm not too sure about -HP. HP is one of his strongest points. Due to how bulky he is, the only reliable way to kill him is either by outright onerounding him with a mage, quadding him or by having something ridiculous like +Atk Fury Ryoma (which takes something like 55 Atk to 2HKO him). He was one of the more annoying foes in the first Trials because I couldn't kill him with physical hits, and the moment he was down 75%, he could Vantage my mage (potentially being a strong hit like Bonfire, which more than likely will oneshot most mages).

Moderately strong archer just goes well with Brave Bow. I'd recommend either Death Blow or Fury (to even further maximise his disgusting durability) and Bonfire for special.

I'd take +Def/-Res or Spd because he can pack 38 Def, and then top it off with a +3 HP Seal.
