goodbye to braves, to speed and to range. Hail defensive Turtoise

So brave weapons are getting more and more countered by deflect, BIke and Sigurd, speed is getting hilariously reduced by realsing spd ploy and spd smoke in the same banner. and ranged especially mage is getting more counter heroes even without that Sigurd (LOL). Are we living up to see a duelist meta rather than a oneshot-one?

I hope so. I think that we will still see some specialized one shot units out there (i.e. Ridersbane+, TA Lilina, etc) but they'll be more specific counters than the general "I just destroy everything" nuke. I hope that this will make healers and dagger users more relevant.

Honestly I hope defense comes into play more for the arena, I’ve had higher defense units for awhile now like Boey, oboro, Leon, and TA Henry so if they can be relevant again with their ability to tank hits and build their specials that’d be great lol

Perhaps. People tend to forget that the meta has been changing constantly for a while now. Remember when Takumi, M!Robin, and Klein were almost considered broken units? Now I hardly ever see them in the wild.

It's more like there are actually going to be options on what team comp you want to use, and getting a full 7 win deathless run is going to take more effort. I'm all for that. I don't mind running Arena over and over for a higher score if it's against actual different teams as opposed to mostly ponies.

It's true but... I don't mind defensive power creep nearly as much as offensive power creep. Being able to survive against 90% of the cast is very different from being able to ORKO 90% of the cast.

Agreed. The only annoyance regarding tanky units to be honest is how b.s. Wings of Mercy is on a dancer. If they ever put some kind of check skill on WoM everyone is going to shove it on their tanks as fast as they can.

Regarding it being another pony, yeah I get what you mean. Then again, he'll be competing with Xander and Brave Roy for a spot on most teams or potentially Reinhardt/Lyn/Celica, and I'd rather deal with him than the full cancer trio.

Also, this is another Green Mage who can run the double Ploy debuffer set (Sonya being the other) with the Attack Ploy seal, which will probably work on about every Cavalry.

It is finally a great thing that we have Seals that block Brave attacks. Was always hoping that we get that in Seal form and we got it really happy about that.
With Sigurd and B. Ike we actually got the god wall you could say vs Brave Effects.

But now hmmmm i must actually say it will become way harder to make Defensiv Wins. Maybe rather to say more random i guess? Example supriese rather enemys with Heroes like Kagero or Ursula with her natural Tome).

Still Brave Heroes have there use as offense Hero.

I don't know. I'm experiencing a near record-pace of defensive wins lately. I've had almost 30 in the last 3 weeks (8 already this week). I'm also actually losing units more often, which normally would mean a win for the player except I'm too stubborn to ever surrender lol.

Cav, I'm interested to know what you're running for defense? My teams don't seem to be doing too well. I've tried three teams this week and none have netted any defenses so far.

Black Knight +1:

Pivot, Black Luna, Fury 3, Vantage 3, Ward Armor, Distant Defense 3 seal

Hector:

Swap, Bonfire, Distant Counter, Wings of Mercy 3, Goad Armor, Panic Ploy 1

Brave Ike:

Reposition, Aether, Steady Breath, Vantage 3, Threaten Def 3, Resistance +1

Inigo:

Gronnraven (waiting to see if it's worth upgrading to + after he's no longer a bonus unit), Moonbow, Triangle Adept 3, Bowbreaker 3, Hone Attack 3, Attack+1 (to ensure kills because of the sheer amount of defensive tile maps this season).

It's nothing too complex. I just try to run something counter to what everyone else is doing, and so I built something to punish teams relying on blues that wears down the usual one red unit pretty quickly. There are a couple of 5 star +3 units on the kill list for this week though, so it seems to work.

You can get so many defensive wins with a team of 3 greens? I'm honestly surprised.
I do agree that defensive wins have been getting a lot easier to get lately, though I'm not sure if it's my team comp, bad players or something else.

Sure. If the thought process of the offensive player is "I should use a blue nuker and minimize my use of red units," then running the counter to that on defense is the way to go. And they're a bunch of tanky units that are difficult to ORKO and will wear down most reds quickly. Plus the double Wings of Mercy leads to misplays.

You're better off on defense running teams that counter particular comps rather than making all-purpose counter teams.

Well, i have seen more double green trans this week, most likely thanks to axura being the best dancer, but i see your point.
Still, my team is a generalist, and had gotten me10defenses only this week, so I'm not sure i completely agree on trying to counter so hard something when you don't really know the meta since there is no hard data on it, just ussers impressions.

Yeah, I generally run a cheesy Rein/Lyn/Firesweep Oscar/PAzura team to first get an easy 900 feathers on lock, then switch it up to play around. I found out going defensive on arena defense is feasible after scoring a pretty decent 3 wins overnight with "steady breath emblem" (BIke, Lukas, Black Knight + DC PAzura). Too bad we can't view replays of our defense wins so I can see what exactly worked.

Currently got a couple wins with "bring your child to work day emblem" (Ninian/Roy/Hector/Lilina), but it may have been nostalgia surrenders for all I know.

Actually running a Kagero with Axebreaker(to suprise Hectors) Olivia and Azura Wing of Mercy and Bonus Hero(most in time Range) and this week Raven Sophia.
But this week was for more weak too only 1 for now sometimes totally random.(last week got over 5 wins i belive)
Maybe should change double dancer team (because to much trap trying with wing of mercy)
