Good Builds for Lesser Used Skills

I have a spare Ylgr and Legendary Ryoma. I'm trying to find any units who can use Sorcery Blade and Kestrel Stance well, but they are not on any unit build on this site. Anyone have any ideas for which units would make good use of those skills? (I know Ryoma also has Guidance, but that's a seal, and I know Ylgr has Chill Spd and Spd Tactic, but I have a spare Legendary Lyn for Spd Tactic and I can use YT Olivia for Chill Spd, so that's why it's Kestrel Stance and Sorcery Blade that I'm looking into.)

Kestrel Stance is a bit difficult to utilize since it boosts attack and speed, so you'd want to put it on a unit that can achieve fairly high levels of defense (or resistance) since the A slot wouldn't be boosting those stats.

The problem with that, however, is that most people prefer other A skills to boost attack and/or speed (Swift Sparrow, Fury, mostly player phase skills) or they'd rather boost defense for more survivability.

Sorcery Blade I haven't really played around with, so I can't say.

But the Darting Stance seal will make it so it adds +4 attack and +10 speed, which is what I want to try and use it with. Maybe a bulky armor unit would work?

Maybe Draug or Zelgius if you want to try experimenting, then? Those two can hit some pretty good speed numbers for armored units, same with Amelia if I recall correctly.

Units that don't need their A slot to boost their defense (because they have naturally high defense) are probably the best for the skill.

Yeah, she has 34 neutral speed, so an extra 10 speed on enemy phase, as well as the boost to her attack, could help her if you're moving away from the usual armor builds.

Sorcery blade is an awkward skill to use because it prevents the unit from using spd-boosting A-skills and it's awkward to use during player phase due to the positioning requirement. I find it hard to use except on someone like Anna or Takumi who have warping abilities. It can also be considered in conjunction with WoM or ER (and ER would synergize well with something like starfish or fishie bow); you could also consider it on someone like Selena who has the bulk to play enemy phase but needs to find a way to work with her low atk. However, melee units can use breath skills and pump out huge specials and ranged units generally won't need adaptive damage because most other ranged units don't have much def, so for aggressive enemy phase A-skills, sorcery blade has a lot of competition.

Kestrel stance is in a similar position - if you depend on atk and spd for your doubles, you probably want to focus on player phase, but this skill only works on enemy phase. It also has to compete with atk/spd bond. I would look to put it on cavaliers who can't use breath skills, because infantry and armours will probably prefer breath skills and fliers are likely to have enough spd just from spamming goads. Cavalry rarely spams goads.

Maybe something like this (note the unusual use of glimmer on 52 atk, because we're counting on hitting a lower defensive stat so moonbow actually doesn't work very well)

Would Brave Bow Setsuna make use of Sorcery Blade? I still have my 4 star +10 Setsuna I made months ago (this was long before we got better bow units and when skill inheritance was just added to the game), so would she make good use of Sorcery Blade or no?

Kestrel Stance is competing with Breaths and DC for A slot and since you want somewhat bulky units to use Kestrel Stance, it's hard to justify using it over a breath or DC.

Imo it'd work better as a seal.

No one can really use Sorcery blade effectively. :/ There's usually a skill someone wants more than it

For sorcery blade: we need to compare possible candidates to 3 units.

Ylgr, the glass ceiling: has one of the best offensive statlines for daggers/bows with a weapon that further increases it. Shes basically the best user of it already. Only lucina with her swap skill and bow can give her a run for her money.

Felicia, the low bar: the OG adaptive dmg girl. Her offensive statline takes a beating due to her low atk, bringing it down to 30/30. Units that can reach 35/35 offensive statline can end up running this skill to a similar succes. Most notably are bow users thanks to their acces to refinable choco bows that give +2/2 when innitiating. High atk brave bows are also an option.

Dragons: already hit melees for res and have adaptive dmg against ranged. Puting sorcery blade on melee units just turns them into dragons without warding breath and the bst boost. There are some weapons with cool effects that can turn them into better dragons tho. Like laevetins.

Kestrel stance: +spd saber can make ok use of it. With spd stacking and atk/def bond. He can become a bulky melee fighter allowing him to keep his weapons effect up. Theres not that many good users of it. Atk/spd bond is better in 90% of cases.

The only units I can see using Sorcery Blade with good potential are Anna and Takumi, since they have teleporting skills, making the effect easy to pull off. I thought of an Anna build for Arena purposes:

Noatun (+Eff)
Blue Flame
Sorcery Blade
Wrath or Chill Spd
Atk Wave/Spd Wave
Flashing Blade

If you feel that 38 speed is enough for you to double most units in high arena tiers, then stick with Wrath. Otherwise, go for Chill Spd. Flashing Blade seal is there for Anna to activate Blue Flame in one turn, provided she meets the requirement.

Lloyd, Merric, and Linde might be able to use Sorcery Blade since they wanna be with mages anyway.
