I thought about old GHB units for a while, especially about F!Robin, i wanted to build her for a while but i can't find a build that i will like enough to use, she runs TA + raven for now.
I actually curious to hear your thoughts about GHB units, are they nice and cheap alternatives to summonable units or trash tier units that dont deserve a spot in your team?
They can all likely be good. Since I made dumb choices in the past, I can't merge the very few I care about. I'd be interested in buidling a CC + Owl Robin, which is pretty much her best set I'm sure.
People only think they're lame because of lack of IVs as well as limited merges, but the latter only matters when you have a really high score to worry about in Arena.
TA Raven is great on Robin, and is less expensive than her other good option, CC owl tome. Owl is probably slightly better in today's meta, but personally I'm holding off on giving my Robin CC for now because I'm hoping she'll get a prf weapon and I don't know what her optimal A skill will be for that yet.
Some of the GHB units are trash, but so are some summonable units. Others are amazing. Xander and Camus owned everyone back when the horse meta was more prominent and are still good units even now, Zephiel was considered the best sword armor before the BK/Zelgius nation attacked, Legion has some of the best speed for an axe user, and Arvis is an actual god. Ploys, res tanking, iceberg nuking, healing...he can do everything (except take a physical hit). He is my favorite unit in the whole game.
In retrospect, "trash" may be a little harsh, because I do believe any unit can be good with enough investment, but Narcian, Clarisse, and Navarre all come to mind as units whose stat spreads kind of miss the mark, since they are all outclassed by other units of the same weapon and movement type. Heck, Narcian is outclassed by his fellow GHB Michalis who has a much more optimal stat spread.
Can' t agree about Clarisse, she has 48 atk and 40 spd if i recall correctly with refined bow and LnD, add debuffs from her bow and she seems suprisingly strong.
Narcian seems underwhielming, indeed, same as Navarre.

except that Clarisse is literally the worst archer in the game. she is just fallen takumi with 4 less resistance and with a worse weapon. even rebecca has potetially higher offensive stats than her thanks to boons.
now, people can use the units they want but some are simply bad and beyond repair (except for possible personal weapons)
Its just that those units have a niche nobody else can do. Niles is the best mage tank archer atm, Virion is a good brave bow archer that can use infantry pulse and panic ploy and Faye is the best mixed ranged tank in the game after H!Jakob with more mobility than him. Clarisse has literally nothing. outclassed offensively and defensively and there is a unit with the exact same stats +4 in res.
You mean GHB units are good for something other than Fodder?
Brazens, Berkut Lance, all good for other units to eat. Their biggest drawback is definitely the limited availability.
I am looking forwards to building a Watersweep Clarisse's Bow Rebecca someday... once I get a few Def Smoke fodder...
As a sidenote I will say I have been merging my F!Robin. Haven't really invested in a build, just the base kit for now.
I 5*'d her, still have 1 copy left to 5*/merge, but saving the feathers for now.
I do like the GHB units (and for that matter TT since they are in the same boat), and look forward to each one. Their limited availability really prevents me from investing much into them though (which is why if they have decent fodder abilities then to me all but 1 is just that - fodder).
I've raised all the GHB units to 5* to try them out. Some are better then others but they're all interesting. IS seems to be giving the older units refined weapons so it's good to see them get supported. I wouldn't be surprised to see Female Robin get a weapon refine at some point. I currently run Female Robin with Keen Gronwolf, Fury, Blue Tomebreaker (I used her quite a bit during the Brave Lyn/Reinhardt craze that was going on for a while as she counters these nicely)
I figure any new unit is a huge plus in my book so keep em' coming!

Xander
Camus
Arvis
Lyon
Linus
Outclassed =/= bad. There may be units better than them, but a lot of them can be very useful on their own. Kana, Linus, Lyon and Arvis are notable examples but they all definitely have potential. In addition to the aforementioned units, also use Camus and Fallen Takumi. Zephiel has even been a big help in this Arena season.
