I was looking at Bartre's character page (since I was thinking of making him my next merge project with the addition of Hack-O'-Lantern) to look at his stats, but then I foolishly decided to read some of what he had as far as info, and couldn't help but facepalm a bit at what was there.
"Bartre is a one-dimensional character, preferring Attack in every build. His impressive physical bulk means that he would prefer not to sacrifice HP or Defense, leaving Speed and Resistance as the least important of his stats. Ultimately, only Attack really matters and everything else is secondary.
Boons
+ATK: The single best boon for Bartre, and the only one he should ever run. It improves his one-shot damage which is the crux of his builds."
The funniest part of this to me is the first sentence of his Boons section. "The single best boon for Bartre, and the only one he should ever run."
So now I'm curious as to what you guys have read on a Character Page that found kinda bad, but also funny that it was even put there in the first place (And don't put Walhart's "5* him for his art" post that they had a while back, lol).
Also, I know that some/a lot of these pages are.... Outdated, but we won't worry about that for this particular post.
Well one thing in general that I find wierd is surgesting 'optimal' build thar ditch a rather unique weapon for something someone else can do better.
The biggest example for that is Eldigan. All his builds are dark mystletainn. I get putting one there, but they seem to totally ignore his.
They did put a build now, but it feels kinda low effort.
Another is Walhart. They seem to only want to use the stats for 1 shots. Despite Wolf Berg giving great builk.
That's one I can get, since her weapon doens't work the best with regnal astra

Ayra's blade seems more fitting for longer CD specials.
Still I do dislike throwing unique weapons away. (which is why weapon refinery is a godsend)
This would be my guess:
While unique prf weapons allow for interesting builds, being distinctive enough means the unit is best at what they do because they're the only one that can do it. But that doesn't mean it's the best that they can do. Bladetomes are good examples of choosing general weapons over prfs. That's why the builds are placed as they are. Conversely, units like Eldigan and Elincia have such great effects on their prf that any other choice would be a step down. Does it mean that they can't perform well with something else?: No, but it's the best for them, hence why the builds are usually referred to as "optimal" or "recommended."
Personally I feel that his speed can be boosted to solid levels without any crazy investment. Speed is a super boon for him, so that puts it at 29 with a boon. Refine a weapon for speed and with his native fury he's got 35 speed at 5* level 40 with no merges. That's not too shabby, and it's what I'm doing with my Bartre. Currently looking for +Spd/- res for IVs, and just more copies for merges. Ironic how the character infamous for showing up when you don't want him to isn't showing up for me when I do want him to...
Azama's page looks pretty normal now, but when I was first looking at it a while back, it was basically just one paragraph with stuff like, "Boon: anything but attack, unless you're a dumbass." Not quite that, but essentially that. It was very condescending without actually explaining the 'why' of anything it said.
