To Fog Breath or to not Fog Breath

So with Tiki!A's new weapon, I am having a dilemma on whether to keep my current build (LB+Def, Reciprocal Aid, TA3, Vantage, Hone Spd 3, QR Seal), or move her to BoF+DC (using my only Hector, but I rarely use him anyways) or not, as both have their advantages and disadvantages. Also running her with Nowi (no Steady or anything) and Ninian for a Dragon Core (rip no Grima or Myrrh). Would love some opinions.

Ye. If ur not already running her with steady breath... then yes, this is def better and worth the DC (higher arena score!!!)

I advise against doing things just for arena score unless you're right on the cusp of making 19.5 or staying in T20 or something like that. Better to enjoy your units and your play.

Report

Shes readily available, good stats, good weapon, and giving her DC SYNERGIZES well with her......like this is no ryoma with DC..................

Shes a prime candidate to merge and get good arena score. And even if shes not then this is a good set for her new weapon regardless......................

But....ye he should wait untill we find out how good the new weapon really is. And if it really is worth the dc

Report

Well! You have DC, and her weapon has aditional effects that DC weapons as gradivus or raijinto dont!

If you really want to do, so... use that hector---

But your case is specific... Mina A Tiki has atk boon and is a mixted tank, perfect against archers with lightining breath and specially mages due to A ward breath she has...
50 atk with lightning breath is good, but Fog will limit her niche against some hatefull archers like Brave lyn, that NONE DC weapon can counter, except breaths.

Report

Typically my Tiki has been able to stand up to Brave Lyn's without the breath skills. And BoF+DC could potentially take her even better, as with BoF, her Def nearly hits 37 and with Fortify Dragons upping that to 43 she can tank a hit and hit back harder.

Report

Without any Breath skills, the BoF and DC has potential to be pretty good. It slightly damages her match-up with other green dragons considering her lower Res, but overall a good switch as long as Hector isn't a unit you're concerned with losing.

Btw, who is the last member of the team?

Report

Yeah I see that, and while I know Hector is top tier, I just don't have a use for him and rarely use armors anyways. As for the last party member, lately it's been Vanguard Ike for the Blessing bonus, otherwise Brave Lyn or a bonus unit for Arena, as usually that core can take care of almost anything, with Nowi being my heavy hitter (despite no Steady as well).

Report

No, nope, dont do it. The added effect is just not worth what you will loose a distant counter build weapon and add a very meh effect and also waste a A slot with a distant counter while foddering an Hector that you could potentially use for any other unit that use it better. If you use it for score in arena, honestly? it doesnt make that much of a difference unless you are on top 1k. My personal opinion, keep your build, this new breath is super underwhelming compared to the already great LB.

Breath of Fog gives both Tikis extended longevity, thanks to built-in Renewal 3, as well as being the bane of every other Breath users.

Distant Counter
Still a solid choice to go with as she'll check a huge amount of ranged units thanks to Breath of Fog's adaptive damage.

Steady/Warding Breath
Another solid choice to go with. If being a dedicated dragonslayer, may want to go with Warding Breath instead. If being dedicated for melee in general, Steady Breath is better.

The typical Lightning Breath builds is still a solid option, but you will have 2 or 3 other dragons of different colors with this build anyway. So having one breath user being a check for opposing breath users isn't a bad idea.

It's more or less of a preference, really.

Report

So far I'm liking the idea of Breath of Fog and keeping her strictly for melee with your choice of Breath in the A slot and Close Defense seal. With Steady Breath and weapon effect she'll be somewhere around 50 Def and 60 Atk, meaning she'll be able to tank just about any physical attacker, regardless of color.

If you give her Ignis instead of Aether, she can even eat 2 attacks from an archer and OHKO them on the player phase.

Report

Adult Tiki has better def so Breath of Fog and its extra def boost is really a nice option paired with steady breath and she can be an incredible physical wall

Young Tiki tho has a more balanced statline and can be a dual tank so if your young tiki already has steady breath, stick with lightning breath but if not distant counter+BoF is a good combo

I don't get why anyone would upgrade to this breath, honestly. Unless it would be to max out a Young Tiki for Arena.

You deal effective damage against dragons, but still get slapped silly by Bold Fighter Grima. Nowi, who is the most prevalent dragon in higher Arena tiers also doesn't really mind it.

Trading off built in DC (which offers a Breath passive in the A-slot) for the mediocre buff that Fog Breath offers is just not worth it.

I just noticed that her new weapon is basically Breath of Falchion...

But seriously, 21 atk +5 def (as long as you are close to another dragon or swordsman) + eff against dragons +10 HP every second turn... What's not to love?

Using her new weapon with DC is denifinly her optimal build; Hell,, even without DC her new weapon is probably better than lighting breath, as long as you have other units with DC (if she is in a dragon team this should not be an issue)

The only question is whether you are willing to sacrifice your only Hector for this or not. (Personally, I like to keep a copy of every good unit if they have good IVs)

Im still waiting for one of the higher BST common heroes to get a legendary weapon, Nowi, Donel, Effie, Sheena, or Soliel.
DC only gives more score in max SP builds with legendary weapons. With regular refined + DC you just miss the next threshold at 2170.
Thats why i just gave my Soliel Steady breath, same points as DC and lets her actualy use Aether.
