fodder or merge

So, a few days ago I somehow got a +atk -res Takumi, which is obviously superior to my +def -res one, and then that brought up the issue of whether I should fodder his Close Counter to my +atk -res Leon (who has higher defense than the +def -res Takumi) or merge him with his +atk -res variant. I'm likely going to build my +atk -res Takumi solely for offense and have Brave Bow and L&D equipped most of the time instead of Close Counter. So should I make the +atk -res Takumi even stronger or should I build Leon to have as an occasional swap for more defense for my main team if a fight calls for it?

If you're patient then I'd suggest to wait for the update and check out the buffs for the Fujin Yumi. If you like the buffs or if they're way too good to pass up on then just merge because Takumi might be a monster again (lol hopefully) otherwise you can fodder him off if you want.

First of all, how much have you invested into your +Def/-Res Takumi? If you've made heavy investment onto him, then I would suggest merging him onto your +Atk/-Res one. If the investment isn't heavy or the resource can be easily recovered, then you may fodder the +Def/-Res off to Leon.

However, Leon is better off using a Brave Bow+ build with Death Blow. But if you want to make Leon a close-ranged combatant, you may use his native Slaying Bow+, Close Counter and Close Def seal along with Quick Riposte.

There's a good chance that you'll pull another Takumi with undesirable IV's in the future to fodder off his Close Counter to, so I suggest merging. And there's also the Fujin Yumi buff coming in 3 days, so hold onto those Takumis.
