five star merric killed my pity rate

pulled him as a pitybreaker while going for hector and im sad :( i cant even fodder him off since he doesnt have any good skills but i feel bad sending five stars home?
idk what to do w him

I know the feeling, my condolensces. I just keep mine around for Arena Assault in case I need a hard counter for fliers.

Use him as Arena Assault. His default tome, Excalibur, is useful if you don't have any good bow units.

I got a 5* Merric from a free pull, but I didn't expect him.
Using Excalibur allows him to counter fliers. You could build a budget build to counter common flier units.
Pitybreakers are pretty annoying, but if you really want the units, you just have to keep pushing. (5* Chrom smashed my rate today :()

Welcome to the club, I've lost track of how many copies of 5* Seliph and Corrin-M I've sent home. I merged my 5* Merric into what eventually became a 4*+10 but he's still rather useless.

You can turn him to Reinhardt & Lyn counter relatively cheap material wise.
Cecilia for Gronraven, Roy/ Selena for Triangle Adept 3/2, Setsuna for bowbreaker3, Palla for Moonbow

My neutral Merric is still missing TA but he can handle Lyn just fine & Reinhardt most of the time unless he's cavalry buffed with quick pulse.

It doesn't change the fact that he's got the lowest Atk stat of any green mage and an awful kit. Compared to Boey, who is also available at 4*, he has less Atk and inferior Def/Res in exchange for a little bit of Spd. Unfortunately, he's still too slow for that to matter.
