Five questions that have been on my mind lately so hopefully you guys can help.

1.) Do AOEs take into account Goads and Brazens? For example my Celica with EFF refine and Brazen ATK/SPD in her A Skill, with under 80% life. Would it trigger using her buffed up stats?

2.) If I have two Eirs on an AR offense team will my Light Blessed units get +10 HP/RES?

3.) Is there any site I can check to see what units have been Arena bonus heros in the past? I started merging older units like Lukas, Caeda, Cordelia, and Cecilia. I wanted to know if there is any chance of them being Bonus Units so I can try and get a better Arena Score for that period.

4.) Which direction do you think future lvl 4 A skills will go? Death Blow 4 is just 2 more damage, as it should be, but Steady Stance 4 had Guard 10 added to it. I wonder which one will be the norm for skill upgrades?

5.) Please confirm for me that, as far as scoring in Arena goes, a Silver Lance + with (DEF) refine would score higher than Garm on my Brave Ephraim? The SP cost of the lance is less but I get 6 more points in my stats which would score me higher in Arena, right?

5. No, refined weapons are 350 sp, prfs are 400, prfs will always score higher than normal refined weapons, anyone that says otherwise has no idea what theyre talking about.

Since Steady Stance 4 had Guard built in (and most likely other stances will do this) I wonder if Heavy/Flashing Blade 4 will add more onto it? (Guard making them special blades like special fighter or granting +5 Atk/+5 Spd to make them more like their Breath counterparts)

aoes only take account visible atk and def/res stats since they go off "before combat". and those skills usually specify "during combat"

its not worth it to try to go and do all that work for random units. if you wanna merge up for arena bonus units. do so with ghb units and such.

offensive skills are generally better. steady stance would have had to have a +12 for it to be any good. heck fury gives a +12 in stats. it really did need a lil something extra. it doesnt activate in PP so its balanced that way. its just that surtr isnt.

no. only the base stats from a unit matter. increases through skills dont matter. the sp from garm scores better

3. not sure about this one. you cant expect old unit on the bonus side. sadly they only have 2 spot.
first 5 is always new unit.
2 bottom left is GHB, 2 next is your "old" unit.
then last spot is the askr trio + fjorm. IS probably gonna add eir to this spot too though.

4. no comment.

5. no. garm gonna have higher score depending on your skill points used.
arena does not take account your buffed stats, they take your Base Stat Total (BST), which is added stats when your unit is naked at +0.
Arena score for each unit is calculated by :
BST/5 + SP/100 + merge*10 + X + blessings.
I forgot how much X is, I believe it's around 570-590 range with bonus unit.
blessing gonna give you about 8 extra score.
after that your score is calculated by averaging the score of each your unit.

Since Nilla already answered all your questions i won't go throught all of them, but i've saw that you have a missconception about how arena scoring works, as you're mentioning the fact that a weapon that gives more stats will increase the score.
This is false as arena takes in consideration BST which is the base stat without weapon, skills and merges

1) No, those increase stats "in combat" and AoEs happen before combat.

5) Stats from skills don't affect scoring at all. Garm is better for scoring, though score only increases every 100 total SP so 50 more might not make any difference depending on the rest of your build.

I'll speak to question 4 since most people are unsure. (Also, I agree with Nilla that it's going to be beyond disgusting.)

Unless I'm forgetting something we have thus far three non-duel 300SP A-skills introduced into the game: death blow 4, steady stance 4, and fortress def/res 3. Death blow was the first, followed by fortress, followed by steady stance. So the first thing to say is that we're working with a very small sample size that doesn't demonstrate any clear and consistent pattern.

Death blow was just 2 extra stats and not a big difference except for scoring purposes. Fortress is quite significant, representing a huge boost in effectiveness for a lot of units from tanks to healers and debuffers. And the opportunity cost was very low until steady stance 4. See, fortress def/res is definitely better for sheer stats on a lot of units (also, it works on both phases so it's better in the hands of the AI), but it doesn't have the guard effect which can save 30+ damage in some cases. Steady stance 4 is a game-changer for some units, most notably someone like Lukas or Xander or even Jagen. But what's worth noting is that first we had a little bit of extra stats, then we had a lot of extra stats, then we had a really strong effect with a little bit of extra stats. In the future I think we can expect one of the latter two: either that 300SP A-skills will grant lots of extra stats compared to their level 3 version, or they will have some extremely strong effect which will be a game-changer for units who use it. If IS attempts to update something like defiant skills, they might even grant a lot of extra stats AND a really strong effect for being at 50%HP or lower
