First Ike

Hey guys, so I just got my first Ike today! I am so psyched right now, but here comes the age old question, "Are his IVs viable?" So he seems to register as +Def/-Res. Should I be proud to weild this mercenary?

Ike is one of those characters like BIke, Dorcas, etc, who is essentially IV-proof, sans maybe -atk. So yes, yours is definitely usable. Go with a standard QR3 enemy phase set.

That's not too bad. Giving him Steady Breath makes him an Infantry version of the Black Knight and he's good to go.

Heavy Blade can be used if you don't got Steady Breath fodder to spare. So yeah, something to be proud of.

Sure. You can go the regular QR3 build, but I like Swordbreaker on him to give him another matchup he very reliably wins

Swordbreaker is indeed much better, considering the vaste majority of fast lords like Ryoma or Lucina, especially the new ones (Arya, Mia, Joshua) released.
Fury is a decent and powerful budget option for Ike but since you've got the +Def/-Res which is a really good IV set, I would rather go for Steady Breath (or Stance 3 if the latter isn't available).

Yeah, you should be proud. For a start, you got Ike. Second, the IVs are decent. Probably not the best, but they do work wonders for him. Finally, his skills and weapon. I mean, that alone should make you proud and feel awesome.
