First Fire Emblem game

Would this game be a good introductory game to the core series? 🤔 Or is there another game that I should play first?

I only played FE7 the blazing blade for the GBA, and that game have a good tutorial for new players, the first 10 chapters if i remember correctly.

The newer games are easier and beginner friendly. If you're new to the genre I'd recommend starting with Awakening or Fates.

Otherwise, Sacred Stones/Binding Blade/Blazing Blade should be a a good introduction.

If you want something easy, go with Awakening or Fates. If you want a good challenge, I would recommend Blazing Blade or Sacred Stones for GBA. If you don’t have GBA, they’re on Wii U virtual console. Also PoR is good, but it’s pretty expensive.

It's not the worst

Maps are decent, it's pretty lenient and overall a good game to learn fire emblem with.
It's, however, not the best by a long shot.
The story especially is just too simple.

FE7, 8 (sacred stones) or Awakening are probably the best.

FE7 has a giant tutorial, good if you want to learn, but pretty boring if you already do. The game can get pretty hard in the mid/late game though. Great story.

FE8 is one of the easier games, with loads of chances to grind, but it great characters and loads of replayability. A fun and kinda casual way to start.

Awakening would be my third choice. Not everyone is a fan of it though. But it's gameplay is like sacred stones, not too hard with a lot of options to play around.
The story can get a bit stale later on, but it's by no means horrible.

Blazing Blade, Path of Radiance and Awakening are probably the best options for beginners. Sacred Stones is easy so it can work too.

Edit: Just don't start with Binding Blade or Radiant Dawn. Also, the only reason I personally ever played Shadow Dragon was because I wanted to play New Mystery of The Emblem, which is a lot better.

Shadow Dragon is straight ass. Easily one of the worst in the series. I'd sooner play Fates again.

New to the series, huh? Glad to see FEH bringing in newcomers. Blazing Sword, Sacred Stones, and Awakening are all great starting points. I would say Blazing Sword as it has less freedom and scope, so it's easier to get the foundation of the franchise. I'd say Sacred Stones over Awakening, though those two have more in common. Cant go wrong with Echoes, though it plays unlike any other, vso wether you play it first or down the line is up to you. After these, you can go Path of Radiance. Radiant Dawn is far from great, though if you like a challenge tackle it next. I'd then tell you to play Genealogy and Thracia 776, being my two favorites in terms of story, with Genealogy being my favorite period. No other titles are needed to play in my opinion.

The sequel of shadow dragon's pretty good though.

In general, I think that games like shadow dragon, awakening and fates are games some will love and some will hate.
It kinda depents on what you like and how much you get tolerate lower bits.

I loved to play conquest.
Birthright and Awakening were still pretty fun to play even if I wouldn't concider them even close to top entries.

Never was able to get through revelations though. The maps were just SO hard to get through, just because they were both boring and frustrating.

A lot of people are saying Blazing Blade so I guess I'll play that one instead. Thanks. 👌

yep. that's the one

Ahhh, the first game I seriously played as a little kid.
Had some other games like pokemon and stuff, but this (alongside the medabots rpg) was the first game I REALLY loved.

Personally, I think pokemon, medabots and fire emblem are probably the best games to play on an emulator.

Not just because they're good, but because they're slower paced games. Action games are harder to play on emulators.

One downside of emulatior is that they have savestates, you gotta be strong if you want to avoid relying on them

I'd say go with the gba games for an introduction to the series. Shadow dragon was fun, but a lot of the features were lacking, similar to how different Echoes felt to Awakening and Fates.

My first game was Awakening, but I’ve played some of the older games. I’d reccomend starting with FE8 or FE7 just to get a feel for some of the other games (and because they are a bit easy in difficulty and playing them). I’d say FE9, but it’s not too easy to emulate (at least it wasn’t for me because I’m retarded). But DO NOT start with FE4, FE5, FE6, or FE10. Those will be way too hard for a starting game and play them when you’re a little more comfortable.

Sacred Stones is a good start for beginners, as the difficulty is simple, the characters are likeable, and the plot isn’t too complicated to understand

I like this game more than other people did but story wise you shouldn't. The story is very lacking and for some reason you're encouraged to kill your people.
