FINALLY A SUMMER CORRIN (A skill question)

OH MY GOD YOU GUYS I ACTUALLY PULLED S!CORRIN. I've wanted a flying mage since Bunmilla made her first appearance last year, and I can now finally, FINALLY say I have one. (Fifth banner's the charm?) I'm super stoked that it's Summer Corrin, too, because she's the best blade mage and she'll pair excellently with my NY!Azura. (OTP!) And to top it all off, she's +spd -res. Pretty sure I've just used all my summoning luck for the rest of the year, but if it means I finally have a decent flier team it'll be worth it.

So my question is this: for Blarblade Summer Corrin on a flier team, this site recommends L&D over Fury, but how does that actually work in practice? I've not been someone who's used L&D much because I never wanted to spend the feathers to promote a Hana just to fodder her, so my experience with blade mages has always been with Fury, but Fury still just strikes me as a better choice? 2 less atk and speed, yes, but the synergy with Desperation is just a million times better, plus with -res and L&D her defenses would be 17/18, which is garbage. 23/24 with Fortify Fliers, which is...still garbage for someone with 34 HP. She'd have to run Ardent Sacrifice to safely boot Desperation, which feels like such a waste of a support slot when she could be running Reposition. So, users of S!Corrin: is that extra 2 atk and spd *really* worth it?

(If it makes a difference, the other members of my flier team are NY!Azura and Caeda, 4th slot tbd.)

yea id go for fury cause it adds a little more bulk for her and it does go good with desperation so go with that cause that what i use

I can't actually tell you why L&D is preferred because I also completely see Fury as making much more sense, esp for Summer!Corrin. She's already got a great spd stat, so adding +5 spd vs +3 spd doesn't mean much for her anyways, esp if she's already got a spd boon. And Fury is so much more effective at putting her in Desperation range, it just makes more sense. Funnily enough, I actually have the same flier team. I'm thinking of using either Michalis or Tana (if I can get her :/) as my fourth addition, because it'd be nice to add a tanky physical flier, since Caeda, NY!Azura, and Summer!Corrin all have better res than def. Gotta have at least one unit that can tank more physical attacks for the team! So basically I agree with u completely, go with Fury in this case.

I don't actually use either of those, I put her on summoner support, and kept her a skill the one she comes with, and for me, it works better cause she doesn't die

Thanks for pointing this out! I'm probably going to have to use her default skill for a bit anyway since I have neither Hinata nor Sothe available right now, so it'll give me time to see what I think. :D

Congrats on getting your flying Mage! S!Corrin is definitely worth it. :3

And I agree with Fury. Use that for her due to the better synergies.

S. Corrin has been a vital part of my flier emblem for a long time.

Fury(imo) is the better choice here as it lets her get into desperation range that much faster.

However, I believe that swift strike/swift sparrow are the better choices as it lets her tank more things in the long run. Especially if you are up against a team of mages in say like CC where there is a constant flow of maps and sometimes constant flow of units as well.
However, if it’s just for one map then sure! Fury might be the best option.

Another thing I would suggest is to pair up NY! Azura and S.Corrin as partners as they will constantly be together.

Caeda is an excellent res tank. However that means you are a little bit more vulnerable against green units as NY! Azura isn’t really the best at handling those units as she is mostly a support. She can deal with one or two greens sometimes but if you bring her up against the likes of LA! Hector,Myrrh, Dorcas and such. She will have a hard time. Or another option would be to make sure that Caeda has the tools like giving her a ruby sword/TA

So, I would suggest to grab another red unit. The perfect units for this would be Elincia and H! Nowi. Slightly below em is NY! Camilla. If none of those are available, I would suggest a green unit like Cherche with Brave axe equipped or Myrrh(as she is a great tank).

If you are wondering,
I use this team
Elincia
S! Corrin
NY! Azura
Hinoka

-Ny! Azura and hinoka with hone
-s! Corrin and elincia with fortify

Wow, thanks so much for the team building advice! Alas, red fliers other than Palla have stubbornly avoided me so far. (Seriously, it took forever for me to even pull a Caeda.) I'd been thinking a tanky green unit was probably the way to go here, but I've been stuck between Michalis, Cherche, or maaaybe Minerva (since she has Ward). Cherche is probably the easiest answer since I already have her at a high-level 4* merge with Brave Axe and Death Blow inherited (though not learned; she needs more sp). Michalis strikes me as tankier though? Cherche's more of a nuke who happens to have decent def, and how much nuking does one team need? There's also Beruka, who I just thought of: mine is a +def 4* supermerge who's great at physical tanking and enemy-phase nuking. Hmm...

(Also does Caeda really have a hard time with LA Hector even with Wing Sword equipped? That's...disappointing.)

The thing is NY! Azura works best on really offensive teams sooo placing a defensive wall like michalis or beruka aren’t imo the best options as you want to keep on attacking/sweeping and using Ny! Azura to pull them out of the way at times(depending on situation).
Obviously, there are certain scenarios where having a tanky unit would suit a certain map more so I would still build up units such as Tana and Michalis and beruka.

Caeda has really low atk stat but Wing sword slightly mitigates it’s weakness against LA hector and such but what about units such as Dorcas who are really tanky as well.(especially with CD3 A slot and Seal slot)
I would definitely give Caeda a TA to handle green units as it’s looking like green units would be the current weakness to your team.

Summer Corrin wants Fury. It allows her to take hits and also puts her into desperation range. She can reach good bulk with flier buffs and after taking a hit she will run through the rest of the team with desperation, almost nothing will stop her.

Omg now i feel like i made a big mistake giving her L&D she feels fragile even red mage could hurt her quite abit.. shes support with spring camilla as well.. anyways congrats on pulling her ! Mine is -res +hp which i didnt really mind as long as i got her..
