Fierce Breath

Little question for the team building. As Warding and Steady Stance got a Breath-equivalent, we could also expect something similar for Fierce Stance. I am already counting on it actually. When do you expect it to come?

I don't really care because I think fierce breath would be way inferior to steady and warding breath

I’m inclined to agree. The breath skills boost up defensive stats, making them truly powerful on enemy phase. Fierce breath would boost damage output, but do nothing in terms of helping units tank on enemy phase.

Yes, true. But no unit in my team even has 50 Atk, I don't really bother with increasing there defenses further. I just don't kill attacking enemies because Atk is too low. I don't see how more bulk help there.

The idea of bating is not only surviving the hits but also caring for the attacker NOT to survive.

Your team doesn’t have a single 50+ attack unit? Well it sounds like you might want to change it up, or make someone capable of breaking that barrier or you’ll be relying solely on specials. Fierce breath is probably months away, if not permanently nonexistent, so making a team that has a few units that can handle their business in taking hits and swatting opponents like flies right now would be the best move.

Yes, I actually struggle there. It has never been too big of a problem but it becomes more and more annoying, the more the single heroes have to fight independent from each other. Especially this season was pretty hard to me, as I usually have a set team of three heroes with one slot left for a DD, but was forced to use Nowi instead. Four baits, only Nowi surpassing 50 Atk, was not workable for long. I actually had to restructure it totally this time.

Yeah, I mean I was shocked because the team I began to run this season has all 4 units surpassing 50 atk, with 3 capable of exceeding 55 atk on player phase, 2 capable on enemy phase, one of them capable of getting 60+. Even my defense team has that same consistency, and they have gotten 3-10 defends per week since I started using them. 50+ attack, no matter what tier, is essential.

Well, I've begun to think minimalistic. I'm on my way to remain in Tier 20 and until now I had no problems. All of them can actually reach ~50 Atk with buffs. But not alone. True teamwork!

Although I am reliant on an offensive fourth unit. Just saw it this time...
I still have problems with the new bonus rotations, I just finished my heroes for the old one. I struggle with those GHB guys (always foddered them because of limited potential, I don't like that).

Depends on the usage. Some units have good defenses but lacks in the offense. However, that's not really the main point.
Thing is:
Defenses can be buffed by four points by weapon refinement. Atk gets two. Boons commonly get three. Steady and Warding are nothing too notable in that regard.

Honestly? I don't expect it. Breath skills are great for Enemy Phase, the Stances are great for Enemy Phase... I don't think that Fierce Breath, which is basically Fierce Stance 2 + cooldown on being hit, would be used as much as Fierce Stance 3... and even that can be replaced by better skills.

Report

If it makes sense or not is anyone's own choice. Don't bother thinking about if I'd like it. I can deal with that.
I just wonder when and if it comes. There has been a big gap between Steady and Warding Breath. And yeah, I can understand the doubts in it...

I would appreciate it more if they already introduced a Speed version of the stance skills. That would make a unit more tricky to double (and increases tanking potential). Speed Stance and Speed breath could turn the tides to the baiter if it closes the gap.
