I need help coping with the fact that I don't have perfect IVs (even after spending so much) and need advise on making the most out of what I have:
Current arena team:
-HP + RES Takumi
- DEF + HP Merric
-ATK + RES Cordillia
-SPD + DEF Lucina
Notable other guys:
+ SPD - HP Camilla
+ ATK - HP Robin (Lv 4 though)
Disappointments:
-HP + DEF Jakob
-SPD + DEF Felicia
-ATK + RES Kagero
-RES + HP Sanaki
-DEF + RES Eldigan
-SPD + HP Roy
-SPD + DEF Cain
-HP + SPD Effie (Wary fighter with + speed lol)
-RES + DEF Sakura
I am really concerned about all my characters' speed stat. It almost feels like if I don't have enough speed, I can't secure 1 hit KOs (or even down a foe after sending 2 units after it [or even getting killed with followed up just for trying to attack for the first time]). I have been making sure that I only field characters with at least 30 in speed.
Not sure what to do. Want to embrace what I have as is but feeling really annoyed and uncertain.
Please let me know if what I am fielding is the best I could be using at this time.

Spd is really important on most characters to not get doubled. Your Takumi example is still ok.
Merric feels a bit out of place because you have Takumi and he can deal with most air units. Maybe swap him for a other green hero or for a arena bonus hero out..
Yeah. currently my comp lack magic dealers so I am using Merric. The alternative is to use -Res + Def Cecillia but her speed is at 25 instead of Merric's 32. My Merric can 1 hit a normal Emphraim but in the face of a + speed Emphraim...... I cry.
Edit: I could run Camilla but I will wait til I bump my Robin to 5 stars. Since I still need a mage on my team.
well if you want more points you should swap Cordelia for Effie and swap Lucina for Eldigan, that will get you 32 more rating which will help quite a bit. Takumi is great even if he has a low rating and if you still feel like you need a mage keep Merric around.
Its not necessary to really have one of each color in your team, it does help but in the end rating is more important.
Don't worry to much about your IV's, they wont make that big of a difference in the long run. Just know how your unit matches up against others and you will be fine.
Also your team needs a bonus hero so I would suggest using Narcian instead of Merric.
You're absolutely wrong. A -10% in speed is absolutely devastating and this mechanic is absolutely unforgivable in a context where they're trying to get you to spend money on a random chance. Don't even pretend like it's ok. If you pull something you should get what you pull.
While I totally agree with how the IV system is quite a horrible mechanic that encourages you to spend money, you have to understand the context. The guy's asking if his account can be salvaged and although it's true +speed is usually the IV you want it doesn't mean much once you reach lvl 40, on a 5*, where units usually one shot each other.
Your current setup is basically ok, as far as I can tell? Only a few weakness vs the "stock" variant of those heroes that the places where you do get stat boons don't make up for:
- Your Takumi is pretty servicable, but loses duels to most variations of Klein. If Klein gets a point-bonus next season, you may want to bench him for a few weeks.
- Speed-dump Lucina still doubles and one-rounds all the things she needs to for her role (Dragons, Julia, Hector), but now has fatal weakness to being doubled and one-rounded by Linde. Takumi + Lucina atk buff answers Linde though
- Cordelia still rips through all reds via Brave+Advantage+TriAdept, just loses some dueling ability vs blues
- Not sure what Merric does for you - guessing you just needed a filler green to deal with blues. I'll note that +spd Camilla is really not a bad unit to have (36 effective speed when initiating), but Merric comes with more stats for scoring.
You know, I never understood why people don't start with a good reroll first before spending money on this game. It literally maybe takes an hour TOPS to get a unit with that you like with good IVs. Aside from getting Hector and all those other rare goodies, it's well worth your time especially if you're planning on spending money. Do people just not know about the reroll feature?
Not everyone wants to play a mobile game competitively, knows about the boon/bane and reroll system right off the bat, or likes base 5* characters. You expect everyone to research this shit AND then spend an hour(s) on a mobile game? Regardless... I feel bad for the guy because Nintendo got him hook, line and sinker.
