Favorite Voice Actors?

I'm sure there are some voice actors that we appreciate because of how it matches to each character and probably just the voice itself. I'll tell you guys mine:

1) Richard Epcar - his voice matches evil characters and narcissistic characters (Hardin, Walhart, and Oliver respectively)

2) Veronica Taylor - personal bias due to voicing Micaiah and is also a Pokemon voice actress

3) Xander Mobus - matches arrogance and evil (Arvis and Innes)

My favorite two would have to be Veronica Taylor (Same reasons as you), and Cherami Leigh, just because she's a good voice actress (Mae is my personal favorite) and she has voiced a lot of shows I watch.

Report

1.) Griffin Burns - his voice acting on Julius is amazing and really stands out in my opinion.
2.) Laura Bailey - probably just biased for liking Lucina as a character, but her voice matches Lucy's calm demeanor. Plus, she is everywhere lol
3.) Veronica Taylor - her voice acting seems pretty gentle, which really befits Micaiah as a well, gentle and kind character.

The guy who did Hardin and Oliver is amazing

Micaiah is my favorite mage I like her voice actress too

Xander is great as Innes perfect

Greg Chun has done a bang up job as Ike and Ephriam

Patrick Seitz as Hector because it fits and he was Luke Valentine in the amazing english dub for Hellsing

Mela Lee as adult Tiki.. so good and so calming

Ratana as Ishtar, I dunno why but she sounds so good when she says "Send ME"

Love Matt Mercer as Chrom.. but he will always be Leon Kennedy

Carrie Keranen as L'Arachel and Gunnthra.... because she was Casca in the old and new Berserk series and ovas.. I actually like that eng dub so much more than the japanese

Erin Fitzgerald as Sanaki, I actually just started using her reg unit recently, I like the way she talks as her

Cristina Valenzuela... because her voice does not fit that art of Lachesis at all

I rarely play with sounds on so I don't pay much attention to the voices or actors. I can't say I'd have any favorites in light of that, but I've for example Myrrh whose lines are too cute and really dislike some others like Lilina's way too squaky delivery and Xander's voice which doesn't seem to fit at all. Oh, and Effie's localization has always been so terrible I can't even bring myself to use her!

Note that English isn't my own language so that might be part of why I pay less attention to voices?

Report

Slow to reply, sorry! And no, it's not, nothing usually gets localized to Finnish which in a way is a good thing. When something does I usually still prefer the original voices.

I am always a fan of Matt Mercer (Ryoma and Azama, to name a few), Ray Chase (Alfonse and Roy), and Chris Smith (Reinhardt and Legion), but I can’t say there isn’t a voice that I don’t like. Even the ones who seem unfitting or squeaky still don’t feel wrong for the character, at least to me. I really love Chris’s rendition of Legion - he sounds exactly how I pictured him in my head.

Edit: SHAME ON ME FOR NOT TALKING ABOUT ROBERT CLOTWORTHY, BRYCE PAPPENBROOK AND BRIANNA KNICKERBOCKER

Report

Reinhardt and Legion are indeed both Chris Smith and I love how he goes from someone as calm as Reinhardt to Legion’s erractic speech pattern. It’s nice how he has such a range.

1*) Robert Clotworthy - BK/Zelgius & Finn

2) Connor Kelly - Setsuna & Marisa

3) Ben Diskin - Feast upon pumpkin!

Report

Richard Epcar - His range is amazing and he always manages to nail each character's personalities

Mela Lee - Her voice for Tiki is so unique sounding and is soothingly charming. I'm hoping we see more of her work for other characters.

Kaiji Tang - personal bias. Also, the ham is so palpable.

Brianna Knickerbocker - It still amazes me how well she voiced such polar opposites as Sakura and Charlotte in Fates. I never thought it would have been possible to make Ninian more endearing, but she made it happen.

Love the job Alexis does for Lucina.

Anyone know why the original voice actress, whoever it was, wasn't credited, and why they changed voice actresses?

Report

Laura Bailey, who has voiced Lucina since Awakening, had also voiced regular Lucina in Heroes. She voiced Palla, too, also uncredited. As for the reason she's uncredited, iirc, it's related to union work stuff. That is likely the reason that Alexis Tipton started voicing the rest of Lucina's appearances going forward.

Report

Greg Chun. Ike, Ephraim, Lukas... anyone else?
I was considering doing Greg Chun emblem, too. Might have to make that happen now.

As to my favorites i adore Chris Smith's Rienhardt, Seth type of voice, i even started to think to build Seth just because of art and voice.
Cherami Leigh as Mae, that voice is just too uniqe to not mention her.
Sanaki's voice is reealy delightfull to hear, too bad her bridal ver voiced by another voice actress.
Honorable mention goes to Brianna as Ninian, Bryce as Henry, Connor Kelly as all chars she voiced, Wendy Lee as Sophia, Lauren Landa as Robin.
The reason to pick those as my personal fav is simple, i like the way how they sound.

There's a lot of good voices, man. I don't know too many names, but the voices I've liked most have come through Fjorm, Nanna, PA Azura, Rebecca, and Caeda. I know Rebecca shares an actor with Nowi, but the way Nowi comes across takes a little out of it for me, though I do have a taste for that as its own thing. I do like the voice on A.Tiki a lot, now that people mention her. Gunnthra also, but I really hate the way IS had her talk to us and I can't get around it.

I do like the voice on Azama.

Special mention to Masked Marth, who is probably a unique challenge for voice actors, to act a character who's acting someone else. It's the resolve and desperation that speak strongly to me as a person.

Also, Fae's voice acting is fun. A bit artificial, but for what it is I like it.

I've also heard Japanese voice acting for a few characters on YouTube, and I really like what I'm hearing through Catria and Mia. I've heard Catria is popular in Japan - doesn't surprise me if that voice has been behind her the whole time.
