I was very surprised when they announced they’d be doing this banner. I’m so glad they did. I’m super excited about Dorcas (and he was very close to what I thought his build would be) since he’s one of my favorite characters from the entire series. Mia looks pretty amazing and I’m glad because I liked her in her game as well. Lute’s also a cool unit to have in the game, just wish Artur was here too. So, what are you guys going for? Any units you just must have? Or are you just saving orbs for the Legendary Heroes banner coming soon?
So, on the subject of Lute and no Artur, one of the things that bugs me is that we have characters that really seem to go with another character but one half is missing. The most obvious example for me would be Erk and Serra. I loved their dialogue in the game. I know they won't have the same dialogue as their official games, but it just feels weird being a fan of these duos that I can't complete. =P
F2P here. Used my free summon and 20 orbs on far fetched, got nothing. Used a ton of orbs on Halloween and got Nowi/Henry/Jacob so just rebuilding now.
My interest in units is largely “will this unlock different play styles” and as incredible as Mia is, she doesn’t. Or doesn’t seem to at least. I haven’t found a place for my Arya yet, and i have a ton of incredible red sword infantry units i’m not using much so it is difficult to justify hunting Mia even if she’s probably the best one. I have lots of former “best red swords!” hanging out in my barracks, rarely doing anything.
Dorcas looks awesome and I’d be hunting for him if not for the 8% banner. There aren’t many units i’m interested in there for unlocking new play styles , but being F2P, even if i get redundant units, the 8% should provide skill fodder for other units who might.
That's a really good mindset to have. I actually do wonder if many people think behind the "need" department, rather than impulsive spending (whether it'd be real money or in-game currency). I don't think that many people really *need* the stuff they're throwing at us if you've been around and know how to customise and use your own resources. Of course, that isn't to say going for favourites is a bad reason at all (part of the point of the game itself).
there are certain “needs” to go for up to a point. I went in hard on the performing banner because i needed a sufficient number of unique Dancers to clear squad challenges. I have every dancer/singer other than the two Azuras. Green Azura is probably the best Dancer/Singer but doesn’t open up different play styles in the way an Inigo does, so I didn’t throw a million orbs at trying to get her.
I had the 5 dancer foundation for squad assault and 5 dancer teams + Flier Emblem team + Armor Emblem team to handle the 7 Arena Assault battles.
Green Azura wasn’t worth the extra orbs, which I’m glad I saved since they got me H. Nowi/H. Jacob/H. Henry who are HUGE units for unlocking new play styles and keep the game fresh.
I was pondering the same question as you for the last 2 days. Finally, I went for the Free Summon and saw all blue orbs. Luckily one of them was Lute!
So, if you reeeaaally want to, go at least for the free summon and 15 orbs (If you have a lot of orbs saved up). Hopefully a green orb will be in your pool! This banner will last till 12/3 tho, so patience may bring better things, too.
It is not really wise to spend orbs in this banner with the legendary heroes banner coming soon. I mean, Dorcas offers something different, while Mia and Lute are interesting but not really gamechanging or anything. If F2P, I would suggest saving orbs for the banner on the 27th. Ayra will be on the banner, and she is slightly better than Mia. Hector will be there too (I guess?), so you could go for him instead of Dorcas.
There’s always the case of compulsive orb spenders/yolosummoners like me, or people who love Lute, Dorcas, or Mia. I really wanted Lute, and managed to get her (although -Spd) and Mia (+Spd!) in just 20 orbs after a month of not getting a single 5*, so I’m really happy about that and will now save for the next banner. Also, I’m really happy that IS is giving Joshua as a TT reward. It’s a good month for the game!
I think Hector is better than Dorcas but Dorcas is very good as well. Good skills for fodder if you want. Lute is the worst unit in the farfetch'd banner but she's the most unique, with a nice tome and ploy abilities. Mia is amazing but still not as good as Ayra or Ike/Ryoma. All 3 units are really good, since they are fan favorites, and anyone on the CYL voting will be a good unit I think
Dorcas is very good and some might prefer him because he is infantry, but Hector has access to armor buffs and built in quick riposte with Armads. I think he is better too. Also, he is the only one with DC, the potential of getting multiple Hectors in the upcoming banner is tempting. I agree with you, though. Mia, Lute and Dorcas are really really good.
They are really even to be honest, it depends mostly on boon/bane. However, Ayra has flashing blade built into her weapon, so her A skill is free. Also, Regnal Astra is quite powerful, and is worth a lot for arena. It's not a big difference, so a Mia with good boon might as well be slightly better than Ayra.
Artur would be cool. I just wish Myrrh was here too for more manaketes. I'm still using orbs on the halloween banner because I want Nowi (and limited time units) and its still got over a week left. Thank goodness Tempest Trials start before the Legendary Heroes Banner. That banner is nuts
