Fae Build Alternatives

I have a heavily-invested mixed tank Fae (+9 merged with refined lightning breath, steady breath, QR, panic Ploy, Aether and distant Def seal). She is also my summoner supported unit and is the foundation piece of my arena core, currently paired with BLucina and Ayra.

I have picked up a few copies of Halloween Sakura and two Lutes on recent banners. I am now debating switching my Fae from a mixed tank to a magic/manakete counter with Warding Breath, a res refinement on her weapon and a dual Ploy. Has anyone out there tried running a similar build? Obviously I can always switch back; but given the rarity of the fodder, I'd love to get some thoughts on this before I take the plunge.

I run a Light Breath/Windsweep/Dual Smoke build on my Fae so I can’t comment from experience but the build you suggest sounds cool.

Based on your Arena team comp I am wondering if it would make sense to do a ploy plus DD3 seal instead of a double ploy. You probably need her to tank magic hits from all three colors so it’s best to max out her resistance. That would get her to 40 base res + 4 res from warding breath + 6 res from DD3 = 50 res before buffs which is good. You could get that to 55 effective res with Attack Ploy or use Res ploy to maximize your damage.

Thanks for your response. I just ran some math on a damage calculator and it looks like there is literally nothing that can kill her on initiation from full HP in the magic / breath / staff world with this build, even before DD3. She also still stands up to almost every physical unit other than Falchion users and the strongest physical green units. So I think I'm going to give this a go.

If DD3 becomes important in practice, I can always run Res ploy by itself or flip back to panic ploy (or a drive skill).

My current merge project (while I wait on my last Fae) is an Effie, so I can run her as a physical wall to pair with Fae. I'd also love to build a dual-dragon core with Nowi at some point; but I just have not been getting enough fodder to convert my 4*+10 to a 5* merge yet.
