expiration or refined lightning breath on m!grima

IVs are +spd/-def. with lightning breath, I can add more spd to stack him up to 36 on my main team or patch the -def, but lose out on 4 attack. the attack lost is somewhat made up with attack tactic, but even then I'm not sure if he'll consistently 1-shot glass cannons like brave Lyn

basically, which is better with speed stacking?

Well Expiration is debatably a better Lightning breath since it does'nt have the downside of Lightning breath has.(the +1 to specials)

IMO just stay with expiration
.
BUT
If you really want to "fix" his IV then go with lightning breath.

A friend of mine did basically the same thing, going Lightning Breath+ (+Spd), Speed +3 SS, Summoner Support and Atk/Spd Bond (though Brazen Atk/Spd or L&D would work) to hit 40 speed before buffs. Could be a pretty interesting build for him if you wanna try it.

Don’t drop expiration for lightning breath. That would be like dropping vengeful fighter for quick riposte.

it's not a strict downgrade, it's trading stats

the -1 cooldown doesn't really change anything because of vengeful fighter. he'll gain 5 charges per combat, which is enough to have aether ready in the next enemy phase combat for both options

I’d rather not kill a unit for a skill that would be worse for scoring. The old saying “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” applies here.

And if you’re going to do it anyway, there’s no point in asking.

If maximizing speed is your main concern, lightning breath offers undeniably more potential. In my books it takes some of his bite out while making him tankier because he's harder to double (especially with atk/spd bond), which also means he'll have to stick to lower-cooldown specials. (Also, cooldown penalty on lightning breath, so even with vengeful fighter you can only fire a moonbow.)

Well, in any case, +atk -spd is the IV for maximally double-edged play. I'm not sure what the matchups look like when trying to compete in spd.
