For context, it is first and foremost, just a troll post meant to get the fanboiz all riled up. So, thanks for that!

But on a more serious note, I made a really tame and even polite post not even talking poorly about Lucina, just not in her total praise, that received an uncanny amount of thumbs down. So I thought this would be funny.

I don't like Lucina, I clicked the title for a laugh, but you just sound mad dude. You mention its a joke, but then you just admitted you made another post and it got thumbs down. So really its you who are taking it seriously then. It would have been a better 'joke' if you didn't make a legit post first :/

I gave Krazy context because I like him more than most people here. We get along great until he gets into his fanboy mode. It totally is a joke, but the joke is for me, not you.

While this was absolutely a joke thread, it spawns from a real place this forum needs to address, but I can't make that clear with a troll alone. This would be a much more pleasant place to be if we could get past all the nonsense.

So will argue that I'm doing the same with this thread, to which I would reply this is but a parody. Besides, just because someone is a hypocrite that doesn't make them wrong.

...Fanboy mode? Mind telling exactly what that entails, because the way I see it, we have differing opinions that don't exactly mesh well together, thus the debates.

Making it seem like I'm "in the wrong" by saying I go into "fanboy mode" when, in reality, it's just conflicting opinions seems more like you're "in the wrong" than me.

Sorry for not getting the joke, but with how petty the internet can be, it's hard to take anything as a joke, especially on Gamepress, considering I've seen things like this before.

You're fine, brother. Clearly I'm playing to the wrong crowd here, but I'd rather embrace the role of heel if that's what they want.

Here's my thing; I like you. You're a nice fellow who is pretty fun and smart. I generally have no issues with your post. But you definitely get defensive, particularly when it comes to Awakening and Fates. That in itself isn't a bad thing; you like what you like and fuck everyone who doesn't agree.

My issue comes from how you don't ever want to talk about it. You'll criticize people for disliking them or disagreeing, but you won't actually talk about them. I've made several post inquiring your position, but you never actually have ever addressed them.

You actually change how you speak and interact in those moments, and I find that disappointing. What's wrong with doing a deep dive with someone? And this next part can go for everyone, myself included: Why can't we be open to the idea that we're wrong?

I get "defensive" on Awakening and Fates whenever people do nothing but say "Awakening/Fates are literally the worst games in the franchise."

If people give actual criticisms on it, like I've seen before (the game is easy, the maps don't have much in terms of variety, a lot of the characters aren't exactly memorable, plot holes, etc) then I'll take a different tone, but if you're just gonna bash on the game with "literally" and "worst" and "ruined the franchise" then I'm gonna defend it.

If I've done differently, then I apologize (I don't remember doing so, but I can be very forgetful), but I tend to get a bit annoyed when people do nothing but call something "the absolute worst thing ever".

I just think the guy got the poor end of the stick. It's him now, but it was also Krazytre not too long ago. It's almost as if people were bandwagoning for the sake of seeing how the the downvote bar goes...and hey, sometimes it's me, for simply clarifying these kinds of things.

The thread was a joke, and I can see that. It's his prime intention the first place, even if it wasn't the "smartest" way of going about it. And hey, I appreciate a sense of humour, even if it's not rocket science.

People here can take these things a bit too literally, even if we're generally quite civil. Take these things with a grain of salt.

As a long time account, I have to say that you are in the wrong about Krazytre. He's completely right on his reasons. He defends when FE A and FE F get shat on without actual criticism, when people simply say it's the worst, FE should have died before FE A, etc.

He's never been in a fanboy mode, he's in what I call logic mode. You don't need to shit on a game to not be a fanboy. Being a fanboy is denying a games failures, and that's not something he (nor the majority of the nice commenters) do in this place. Like, I'm one for constructive criticism, and I myself have my sarcastic moments, as most here have likely seen, but Krazy has always been very logical and knows how to talk without going batshit insane (good example, last nights debacle). So, might I wonder as to where you've gotten your information regarding Krazy's interaction regarding those games?

Oh, you beautiful, simple man. This is not about Lucina. This is about her fans. I personally like Lucy, too, and have no problem seeing her as a Legendary. But some people put Petelgeuse to shame for their love of her, and I'm merely wanted to mock them. That's all!

I was taught 'if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all'. I think many in this site (and others) could do with learning that. There's so much hate and trolling from so many sides it baffles me.

I totally agree. This thread is in jest to how silly it all is. If you don't get that, then this probably seems incredibly toxic. But that says more about the reader, not me.
