Emerald axe and similar weapons/skills

Am I just reading the descriptions wrong? It seems that my units lose Atk points when my opponents have these weapons equipped.

Answers

It doubles the color advantage/disadvantage from 20% to 40%. This applies offensively and defensively.

So a blue tome will deal 40% less damage to someone with an emerald axe while a red tome would deal 40% more damage.

To expand on this answer, the effective attack of both parties will be 40% higher/lower before comparing with defenses, so it's not like your final damage will be 40% more or less.
