Eldigan build

This is my current Eldigan, he's +Def -Res. I was thinking of switching gears on him and running Fortress Def 3 and Renewal, instead of QR and Fury. Does this sound good? Eldigan is my favorite FE character, so I want to make him good.

The fodders aren’t hard to come by so I don’t see a reason why you shouldn’t test it out if you’re commited.

Although suggestion would be to use Steady Stance instead if you still have it and definitely keep QR.

Fortress Def 3 sounds interesting on him, it will bring down his Atk to 47 however he will be a wall, and yes I wouldn't remove QR3.

I've been a huge fan of Eldigan, and here's my build: quickened pulse, bonfire, distant counter, quick riposte. This build turns him into one of the best bait units in the game by enabling him to bait and retaliate with Bonfire. The result? Note that both Eldigan and her opponents are at +10.

1) He one shots most red swords, including fury Ryoma. Even when he could not one shot some units like Xander or another Eldigan, he still kills with quick riposte or at least survives.

2) He one shots all red mages.

3) Needless to say, he checks all green units, both axes and green mages.

4) He kills all blue mages that cannot one shot him. With neutral hp and res, it takes 72 neutral or 60 blue magic damage to one-shot him.

This build requires Eldigan to play as a bait unit in order to retaliate with Bonfire for his first attack, which is his play style anyway since quick riposte is also a baiting oriented skill and that Eldigan's speed is mediocre even with horse buffs.

Merge level is not the point here. The analysis holds true when Eldigan and his opponents are at the same merge levels. In fact, he can nuke even more things at +0 against other +0 units since merge level favors the defender.

Mine is +atk - spd. I wouldn't recommend running Distant Defense instead of Quicken Pulse since it significantly lowers his bait nuking potential. But obviously, it's up to your playstyle.
