Dual Effies

I decided to try one last time for LA!Lyn before the banner disappeared, and I pulled a 5* Effie with +Def -Res IVs instead. I'm not mad, I already have LA!Roy and Effie is a great character, but as you can probably guess by the question title, I already have a 5* Effie that is better IV in my opinion (+Atk -Res). She is heavily invested in, with Dragon Fang, Quickened Pulse, Atk refined Silver Lance+, and Armor March. My dilemma is whether to make this awesome build +1 merged, or to use my new Effie for Death Blow fodder. A lot of my other units could use Death Blow, such as Marisa, Celica, Reinhardt, and possibly Gunnthrá. Should I fodder her off for a great skill or +1 merge her for an OP build?

+1 is just 2 total stats. if you plan on maxing her later then id go for the merge otherwise id save her for fodder. DB3 is great on so many units that if you are even questioning who to use it on then id just save it till you are 100% certain its the right choice.

Thanks for the advice! Maxing her out might be a project for me in the far, far future, but considering how hard it would be for a f2p player like me to get 9 more effies, it's a bit of a pipe dream. Even so, a lot of my units already have great A skills, and I can get Death Blow from Klein or Hawkeye, who I'll be able to get more of later, so I'm leaning more towards a merge. 2 extra points isn't the greatest thing ever, but you can't really go wrong with it.

A proper Effie build at +10 is probably the best f2p unit in the game. I'm f2p and my Effie is universally my best unit. That said, I understand the feather struggle. You do you, boo.

You're probably right, and merging her now would make it slightly less difficult to make a +10 if I ever wanted to later. I also did some looking and actually have two 4* Kleins sitting around, so I'm good on the Death Blow front. I'm going to merge. Thanks for the advice!

I suppose that depends on how much you care about staying in tier 20 arena. High merge high bst units are the only way to achieve that, and Effie is a very viable candidate. She's available at 4 stars, while not super common, you should eventually get enough for a +10 (I've been playing since June as F2P, and I've got enough for a +7 if I wanted it). If you don't really care about top bragging rights, having more units with optimal sets is probably more valuable overall (as cancerous as he is, Reinhardt with death blow is very good against a large majority of PvE stuff).

Thanks for the advice! I was going to merge her for arena score, but I don't really care about arena that much, so the DB might work better.
