Dragonslayer Roy

So do you think Roy can be worth it to level up to 5* as a dragon slayer? (it sounds like Natsu xd). I have just noticed that I have 8 Roy, and one of them is +atk -hp, so I could make a +7 merges in a future.

It's worth it as a project, He is going to do well against fae, Grima and kana, serviceable against tiki, and still get crushed against nowi. The question is will he be an upgrade to whatever red or dragon counter you are using now

It's a really costly investment tho. Not only would you have to get enough feathers, but you'd also need to buy his weapon refine. After that you'd aslo have to inherit some expensive skills to make the investment actually worth it. Not really worth it unless you are a Roy fanboy, because he's objectively still pretty weak.

I vote yes. I still contend that he's the best Enemy Phase dragon slayer and I've gotten a lot of use out of mine. Especially since most dragons are built as Enemy Phase units (QR3, Steady Breath, etc.) he does really well in matchups where he can bait them to initiate. I disagree with some other answers in that I don't think he necessarily needs expensive skill inheritance to be worthwhile - I would just highly recommend dumping TA3.

He can be a good candidate for Distant Counter (balanced defenses, built in QR) but it's not necessary especially if you want him to focus on his dragon matchups.

PLUS he has a really balanced statline overall so he'll really benefit from the blanket stat boost you get from merging him, if that ends up being your long-term goal.

I recently got my Roy to +10, so I will say if you can merge him, it is worth it. Note that his A-slot will always be somewhat expensive (Close Defense, hopefully if you have your spare Joshua, DC, Brazen Def/Res from M!Kana, Breath skills are definitely optimal), but he is quite fun to use. Just note that he is not nearly as good as someone like Soleil, but I enjoy Roy and his niche quite a bit.

It's very expensive but can be very fun. I mean I gave Joshua Wrath Warding and Ploy skills; Roy can do the same but with a 50% QR and Dragon slaying so he can definitely be worth it in the long run.
Definitely make him your merge project because he needs all the stat buffs he can get
