Dragons tones are magic weapons... right?

I had Sigurd go up against young tiki and the -50% damage on the first attack from divine Tyrfing didn’t trigger which was odd since I know dragonstones are magic weapons. So why didn’t the effect trigger?

I think it might be because Breath skills are technically still considered melee attacks instead of magic attacks, which are generally ranged. Even if the melee attack does magic damage, it might not be counted as a magic attack. Probably need some verification on this.

Dragons attack at range 1. Crusader's Ward triggers at range 2, meaning tomes, daggers, and bows have their damage halved.

Divine Tyring is basically an in-built Aegis for the first Magic hit.

This should clear it up: https://fireemblem.gamepress.gg/passive-skills/close-defense-3

However, if we look at how Deflect Magic works, Staff users aren’t actually counted as Magic users either. Dragonstone applies to dragons, Staff applies to healers, and Magic applies to mages.

Distant Defence specifically has to state; Bow, Dagger, Magic, and Staff, while Close Defence has to use Sword, Lance, Axe, or Dragonstone. Meaning they’re actually classed differently.

Magic does not equal magic damage.

They deal magic damage, but stuff like Divine Tyrfing and Mulagir doesn't affect them, I can guarantee that from personal experience.

When the game specifies that something applies to magic weapons it actually only means tomes, but I don't know why they don't write it like that.

Dragonstones are classified differently than tomes. They do magic damage, but skills like Close Counter deal with them instead.

Annnnnd a bunch of people answered that already lol. Was between games of Overwatch and couldn't post it in time.

Sigurds skill says magic, not magic damage.
So it only works against tomes.
