Doubts on Joshua

Since i already had him when he first came out, i'm now with two 5* Joshuas (the 4* one was sacrificed for Windsweep on my Ephraim and i have no regrets). I was considering merging him to raise his HP and Spd by 1 but then it didn't really feel like the right thing to do since he also has Close Def that is a very good skill to have on some units (even tho i have the seal maxed it could be good to do a Close Def 6 kind of thing). So my doubt is: Fodder or merge? Close Def, if Joshua is foddered, will be given to either my +1 +Atk -HP Lene (Making her a bit more bulky), a +Spd -Res Selena (allowing her to tank better and empowering her Bonfire) or a +HP -Spd Libra (Once again, to make a unit a better tank at close range). What do you guys think i should do? I like Joshua as a character and unit, but he's not on my top priority (i don't use him very often)

No way I would ever merge Joshua. If you really find windsweep that disinteresting, there's still close def, so that you can save a Sigurd for merging or spd smoke.

Not to sound rude, but i suggest you'd read better what i wrote. My main problem is: Merge or fodder for Close Def. Windsweep isn't of interest right now

dont merge joshua, since he's got that sweet close defense that can be used to great effect on some tank oriented builds (I'm looking at units like lukas here)

if you dont know who to give CD to, then keep the extra joshua around until you make up your mind because +1 isnt really doing you any favors

I reread as you requested, and I'm not convinced you made yourself clear to begin with. In the original question, you said, "So my doubt is: Fodder or merge?" and now you have repeated yourself. I said, I would never merge; close def is good fodder and windsweep is good fodder. I implied that you seem to be very disinterested in windsweep, which you confirmed.

So, without intention to attack you, might I suggest that you read better what I wrote?

EDIT: I'm not convinced I've figured out what you're trying to ask, then. Did you mean just "how should I fodder Joshua?"

My question mostly was: Should i fodder him off for Close Def or merge him? And if i should fodder him for Close Def, who should get it?

Seeker my brother, I enjoy how active you are in these posts, random I know. But i see you on a majority of posts i read and its like seeing an old friend after our first interaction haha. Keep on keeping on brother (:
Oh and side note, i agree that +1 on a unit who will probably never have the oppertunity to hit +10 isnt really worth the investment. Use that CD

Give Close Def to Selena. Top arena weight fodder is best spent on merge projects so you can maximize arena weight

I'm not gonna say what you should do, because really, it's your choice.

But I'm gonna merge all 3 of my Joshuas together. I don't fodder limited copy units.

Also, Windsweep Ephraim = Respect

Not really if you have a +Spd Ephraim, which I do myself.

Now I just need an Alm or 2.

Man I regret foddering off my 4* copy of Josh for a basic Slaying Edge (or was it Killing Edge) for a 4* Caeda I was working on.. before I understood things in the game.. waste of a merge or CD 3 skill. I hope they trickle out more copies of him eventually like Masked Marth, he would be amazing at +10

I'm in the same boat as you. I like his character and skill set but I don't use him much. But for this TT he's been back from vacation and grinding his ass off. The inflated stat boost + Lgn Lyn atk boost makes his stats really really sweet and he is awesome in TT. I can at least experience him as a +10 unit.. If only we can get more copies in the future.

So about foddering him for CD, as good as a skill that would be to inherit, I personally would hold off from merging or foddering untill you know if we'll eventually get more copies for merging since he's rare
