Don't get upset about Ayra
Though she looks absolutely amazing, I don't bother to spend any orbs on her. If you believe in powercreep, then loads of much stronger characters will come out once in a while.
So, for f2p or almost f2p like me, we should save up enough orbs to throw in banners with increased rate to get focus units. That would be more efficient to get 5 stars then rely on RNG

Well this whole game is RNG based... people will continue to spend orbs on banners with new heroes unless 1.) They don't need another unit of a certain color or 2.) They simply don't like the new heroes or don't care for them. I personally spend my orbs heroes I like and I believe most and if not everyone else does the same thing. Yeah this banner is stupid in the way they put Ayra with Elidigan, but that is just how IS did it and it's up to us whether we decide to roll on the banner or not.

I thankfully got her with my measly 13 free orbs i had around, and after using her for a bit i think she is actually not as special as it seems. Her speed is amazing, but her special is not that much stronger than moonbow and when you have 2cd the heavy blade effect doesnt do as much as it would do like Aether on the Ikes. She does minimally more damage than a Moonbow Ryoma, and that's really it, nothing too gamechanging there honestly. I don't think people miss out on the greatest thing ever not pulling for her.

Are we using the same unit? She can hit 50+ speed without much effort, doubling 98% of the cast, especially with Threaten speed, and she can proc a 16-20+ damage Regnal Astra (the same as a 34-40+ Defence/Resistance Bonfire/Iceberg) on every single engagement without the need to even get hit due to Desperation. Mine’s +HP/-Def and she melts everything.
Just for reference, Moonbow hits for 9 damage on a 30 Defence/Resistance unit and 12 on someone with 40 Defence/Resistance.
She’s just like Black Knight in the way that she’s bad in the AI’s hands, but she truely outclasses every sword unit that doesn’t have DC built-in to their weapons.

First of all, "50+ speed without much effort" is just absolutely wrong. Her base is 37. To get 50 speed you need her weapon bonus (40), +Spd nature (43), Life and Death (48) and Speed Seal Level 3 (51). How the fuck is that without much effort, that's an insane amount of Investment.
Not to mention this amount of investment is just stupid. 46 Speed is the tier of life and death mages that die when you look at them funny and absolutely unnecessary even on her with a speed-based special. Not to say getting a +Spd nature out of this banner is insanely unlikely. Realistically you will have a 45 Speed Ayra with 18 damage Astra.
Which yes, equals a 34 defense bonfire. That Ayra nearly eaches with her 30 defense, btw. Being 2cd is pretty much the only advantage her Astra has over existing specials.
And I do not know why people are so fond of low cooldowns in the first place. 99% of the time Regnal Astra activates on an attack that kills her opponent regardless since Ayra got quite convincing attack in the first place. The only times it matters is when you fight some squishier Lances that would otherwise survive. For the record, she can kill a Sharena, but already fails at killing an Ephraim.
You are right in that she outclasses prior sword lords. But the difference is not as great as people make it to be - like I said, she's just Ryoma with a bit more damage.

I missed the Eldigan ghb and he's not being added to the summoner pool, so I kinda see this banner as my only chance to get him rn. I think it was made for the newer players who don't have every ghb unit while still providing a new unit for older players, and in which case it's not going to stop as long as people gravitate to the game cause there will always be young and old looking for new additions.

Sorry but, what are you talking about? Eldigan has been part of the summoning pool for a long ass time and was never part of a GHB. He's a 5* unit exclusively so I guess you could say that he's rare but he's not unobtainable. And the way that IS brings back old heroes from old GHB's... is by bringing back the old GHB's. We had the Robinne or Clarisse GHB not too long ago for anyone who wasn't part of the game at the time. Old GHB heroes never get to be in a banner. But I should also mention that the big issue that everyone is having is the way that they either are trying or want Arya but the banner has two red units so getting one and not the other is cut in half due to having the same color focus in one banner. It's super upsetting that you'd have to either spend money or get super lucky to get the unit that you want.

I see what you're saying about the red units too, but unless you know something about how the units are selected, I don't think it's true that it halves your chances at all. The appearance rate, let's round down to 3% for simplicity. To select Lachesis of the focus units is a 1/3 chance, so to select NOT Lach from the focus is 2/3, so that is the odds of choosing Ayra or Eldigan in a pool of 100 orbs is 3/100 * 2/3 = 6/300 or 2/100 = 2%
Now say we have 25 blue, green, red, and colorless orbs just for simplicity. The two focuses you want are both red, so the actual probability of getting them is
2 /25 then Ayra you have a 1/2 chance not because they're both reds but because they're both focus units. so Ayra would be 2/25 * 1/2 = 1/50 or 2% and Eldigan would be 2%. To get either would be 4%.
These are just some crude numbers, but I think you can see, you can weed almost all non-focus grabs by exclusively summoning reds, and that in turn increases your chances.
As for selecting Ayra or Eldigan, I think what the rng does is raffles to see if you get the 3% then raffles between the 3 to get one. I don't think it takes color into consideration when deciding which unit it gives you and I think it's decided the moment the 5 orbs show up on your screen.
I could be wrong, but if that were the case, two reds does not decrease the chance of getting any one focus unit.

You're ignoring the issue of rate-Breakers. Having two focus units of the same color with one unit being undesirable significantly increases the chance that your summoning rate will be broken by an undesirable unit, particularly if you are sniping. It was a very shitty move by IS.

But how? I imagine if it was a blue focus unit that instead of getting those Eldigan reds, you'd just get focus blues. You still have the same 1/3 chance of landing any one focus unit in the lineup. You could say that you'd spend less orbs if it was an undesirable color, but it doesn't affect rate.
