Do you think there is any Hero who actually is a Problem in Arena?

Now that we all more or less know what to expect when doing Arena matches, I dont feel like there is any Hero who is so strong that you can't deal with him when using a "normal" Team.
I mean Reinhardt/ B!Lyn are undeniably strong but you can easily counter them with common units. Also the Brave Heroes didn't turn out as terrifying as first anitcipated imo.
Maybe it's just me, but I really think you can play Arena without being frustrated afterwards :-)

What do you think about this?

NOTE: Dancers are the only Heroes I am afraid of when doing Arena since the AI can be pretty random at times, sometimes ruining your plays...

Didn't you answer your own question with dancers? If they're constantly throwing wrenches in your works...

Well you quoted BLyn and Reinhart.

Even with a proper team, sometimes the map setup can seriously screw you up while fighting them.

Also you say "a normal team" and "common units", I'm not sure anyone can say that, particularly newcomers (Fae + Julia are not exactly common ; Rein eats Nino, Boey and a couple of other units that would supposedly counter him, for instance).

Such meta defining units should be considered : you need a proper Rein + BLyn check when building your arena team.

Also as mentionned : dancers. They can turned any unit a danger to your team. I was tricked into being too trustful during the Performing quests, and lost a unit because of them :)

Finally there are some other units that tend to surprise people : some weirdly built BRoy with Galeforce can eat through your team for instance.
But they are just surprises, not that threatening, even without a special counter in your team !

Yeah, but I think that's amazing (the example with B!Roy)!
Shouldn't we aim to play some builds that are not exactly meta, but find a niche to be viable?
For example: I see many people using Selena with Wo Dao+ in infantry Teams because of Infantry pulse, etc. I think that's awesome compared to the usual Fury + DC weapon builds!

However I also agree, that cavalry Teams are annoying at times, but we've got some countermeasures against them and know how they work until now. The only real problme with any advanced Team is that new players will have problems. But they will also have problems with non-cavalry Teams.

Well, if there was a single unit that made your life impossible then the game would be broken, even for a gacha game.

However, to answer the question, I personally find full cavalry teams to be situationally hard to deal with.
They’re usually no problem to deal with, however, there are certain maps where a full Horse Emblem can just run you down and cover the whole map in a single turn even if you managed to bait and kill one of them, and if they land on a Defensive Tile, which they usually do, then you’re pretty screwed.
I also want to give a shout out to Steady!Wrath BK and Steady!Aether Greil since they’ll just run you over if you don’t have any reliable magic damage, which I fortunately always do.

As for Dancers, I personally find them to be the most enjoyable part of Arena since they actually provide a challenge unlike most other teams. But maybe it’s because I’ve gotten used to figting them, because I actually find their AI to be easily abusable and fun to play around.

I don't think BK and Greil are that much of a problem, you can deal with them when using mages or you could kite Greil with an Archer (granted he doesn't have DC, but Steady Breath isbetter on him anyways).
But yeah, full cav Teams are annoying to deal with at times. Still, only B!Lyn and Reinhardt stand out even in full cav Teams imo since they are ranged and you can't out-maneuver them, so you have to bait them and to do that you need specific units.
I see that for new players that certainly is a problem, but then again most non-cavalry Teams will also be a problem for them.

Units that are obviously more powerful than others can still be countered even by newcomers. But a hero that can screw up everything is a dancer, because on some maps, you just can't position your units properly, so you do a sub-optimal play since you have no other choice and then the dancer just f*cks up everything.

Report

That's exactly what I mean.
Dancers can screw up your whole strategy in some situations. But I don't think they are too powerful to be in the game.

Reinhardt. It depends on your rank in the arena, of course, but it's extremely challenging to get anywhere without a dedicated counter who can bait and KO optimized Reinhardts. This is doubly true once a dancer is tossed into the mix. Since he is commonly available it's not enough to take one who can only handle him unmerged. I'm down on Tier 18 currently and still running into +7 Reinhardts.

Alternatively, Brave Lyn hasn't brought the promised apocalypse...she's not hard to handle even without a dedicated counter as high def units often have high HP. The problematic side of that is that high RES units usually have low HP.
