Do Warding Breath and Vengeful Fighter Stack?
Im assuming that the +1 to special charge for Warding Breath occurs when you receive a hit from an enemy and the +1 special charge from Vengeful Fighter occurs when you attack an enemy. Is my assumption correct? The tool tips on these skills aren't always clear. And if that is how it works, can anyone confirm if those two skills stack? I want to put Warding Breath on my new +res Grima Robin but i dont want it to be a waste if he doesnt get the +1 charges on both attacks given and received. Thanks for any clarity you can give on the matter.

If you use a Breath skill and Vengeful Fighter, VF basically turns into a glorified Quick Riposte, because the Breath skills already give +1 charge during the enemy phase, both when the enemy attacks and when you counter.
Only reason to use a Breath skill would be to use Bold Fighter instead + QR seal so that you double and charge your special more quickly in both phases.

Ok, so just to clarify, you are saying that both vengeful fighter and Breath skills give a +1 charge to special for BOTH enemy hits and your counter attacks in the enemy phase? So by that logic, if an enemy doubles and you give 2 counterattacks with Vengeful fighter that is 2x4=8 special charges during enemy phase with Vengeful Fighter by its self? I thought Vengeful Fighter only gives the +1 charge when you counter attack in enemy phase. And i thought Breath skills only give +1 per hit you receive by an enemy in the enemy phase.

No, VF only gives +1 charge when you counter in the enemy phase (and Bold Fighter only when you hit the enemy during player phase). Breath skills give it both when you're hit and when you counter during the enemy phase. The Breath skill by itself would give all the extra charges during the enemy phase, VF would only make you counter twice when using them together.

Oh wow, I had no idea Breath skills were THAT good. Ok, now I understand what you mean about vengeful fighter being a glorified quick reposit if I give Grima a Breath skill. I mean, it would still be op and he would fire off an aether every enemy phase with the Breath skill. But ultimately it will work the way I want and give him a 35/34 def res spread with a guaranteed aether as long as he survives the double. Awesome, thank you so much for clarifying that for me Dannwond!
