Disappointing Art

I'm wondering which characters people think have the worst artwork compared to their other appearances outside of FEH.

We all know who it is.

Lloyd the meth addict.

Eliwood isn't great either.

Eliwood came to my mind, by I just saw an original Soleil and couldn't believe the difference

Soleil is skinnier in her other art.

Her tunic just doesn't seem to really give her much shape

Lilina looks like a goblin in her attack and damaged art.

I think it's great, because she's showing some kind of intensity, which is a lot more realistic

Eliwood, Lloyd, Sophia, Tobin, Tsubaki, Cordelia, Arthur.

These are just the worst comparing to their original arts. They're not specifically the WORST ones to me.

I quite like Cordelia's bridal art, and the art for her specials in general

Arthur's is bad. I immediately send him home every time because it feels like I'm training a poster. I lean more towards the realistic art. I wish they'd add blinking or some hair motion to increase immersion imo

Original Olivia, maybe? She looks a lot better in what I've seen of Awakening

Also, I don't know what Arthur looks like in Fates, but in FEH he looks pretty comical (pun intended)

Yeah Olivia seems to come off a lot more like a dancer as opposed to a victim.
Oh and Arthur looks just as bad.

Yeah Olivia looks much better in Awakening by far (Performing Arts rivals her Awakening art however since it's an easter egg from Awakening itself).

Oh and I wish Arthur looked more majestic. He's supposed to be our Hero of Justice!

OG Olivia

- Everyone drawn by Ueda Yumehito (Hinata, Cordelia, Oboro, F!Robin).
- Kliff.
- The attacking art for Lyon, Lon' qu, Navarre, Sothe and Raven (bottom teeth looks awkward).
- Owain's neutral face.
Just to name a few.

Hahaha, poor Ueda. F!Robin didn't turn out half bad.
And yeah some attacking art could definitely be better

Nah bruh. Kliff's attack be wack. Tobi could do better. Same goes for Hinata.

Maybe Olivia at base, her art is fine but it doesn't match her art in Awakening (kinda same with the pegasus one)

I think so, maybe. I just can't put my finger on it. He's up there for my disliked art.

I dunno there's so much art that it'd be hard to name or mention it all.

I don't like Ogma's art either. I think part of it is how that artist doesn't draw things in a way that I consider very "anime"--in the ways that I like anime to be. You're right, it's hard to put my finger on.

Ogma's art is very unrealistic and looks like he had muscle implants plus steroid injection

Not necessarily compared to their original art, since it's been a while and I won't bother to google it to check. Just terrible art in general. Florina's the absolute worst.

There are a lot of others I'd give honorable mention to here. And really, I have to put forth Aversa, purely for the atrocious anatomy (especially in her attack art). Humans do not bend that way.

I can agree on most if not all of these. And comparing to OG Art, theyre all pretty meh. Hector looks more like his Legendary form than anything else.

Florina just looks bad IMO

Arthur looks like a comic book character but badly drawn

Mist looks, weird IMO.

And Jagen I guess is supposed to look battleworn. But he looks meh to me.

And yeah Olivia looks meh. Though, I think her Flylivia form is also pretty bad. PArts is honestly the closest we've gotten to her looking like her Awakening form (delicate)

When I first saw the Arthur art, I thought they were deliberately going for a comic book style to match his personality and thought it was clever. Then I saw that they didn't do a very good job of it, and that the same artist did similar-style art for other characters, which means it actually had nothing to do with Arthur's personality. So, not so clever after all. If they ever do an Arthur alt, they should totally get a proper comic book artist to do him in comic book (rather than anime) style. Actually, they could do a whole superhero theme banner of him and three others. That would be a lot of fun, if done well.

No art is bad and saying bad stuff about the artists is cruel. Try drawing a FE character yourself. When it comes to disappointing art i would have to say Elincia. She just looks way too anime for my tastes. Her summer festival art is phenomenal too. Also the lazy eye that Saias has when attacking unnerves me

Sorry, I'll have to disagree. There is indeed a level of subjectivity but some simply aren't good. No dancing around it. I can tell that some of the artists weren't even trying. Eg. Cuboon's earlier works like Tiny Hands Reinhardt and Palla. Comapre that to the two Kagero alts, Summer Tana and WT!Reinhardt, there's a significant difference in quality.

Lol fair enough. Its always fun talking to others and calmly, kindly debating. Is that your art btw? I really like the style. Its like a mix of shades, cartoon, and realism. It blurs lines in a beautiful way and definitely has detail put in!

Actually Joshua I find to be pretty good. His VA matches him and he looks very good IMO.

Yeah but then again Joshua always seems to look good. Its hard to find bad art of him. Maybe its his luck rubbing off on others? Lol

Yeah, his VA is very good for the role, have nothing to complain there, but his SS arts is SO much better.
A pity, cause every time i see him i think "i should really +10 him" then i see his art and go "yeah, maybe he will get an alt at some point . . . or something."

What?! Her art in my opinion is amazing

Her face is way too scrunched in. It's like there's no room between anything there. Her nose is also barely drawn (if that even counts). And her hair isn't the right color. Compare her to the SOV and she's not even close.

My poor Mae wasn't as lucky as her beloved Boey was :(

I've found select issues in arts, like M!Grima's cartoon-y eyes clashing with his otherwise intimidating look or Sophia's long neck, but I don't really dislike any art overall. Yes, I even like Lloyd, OG Hector, OG Olivia and Eliwood.
