Devastating Gunnthrá

You know, with how Blizzard works as a Reverse Blade tome, I'm surprised no one really uses the Defense Ploy Seal on her more as it allows her to debuff all four stats at once meaning she can do insanely good damage despite her low attack.
I mean it's what I immediately thought she needed as soon as she was released into the game during the last Legendary banner.
She's practically a Debuffing Nino with more mobility.

Doubt it. Making a unit free after people pretty much payed for her is asking for trouble.

Edit: The reason people don't run Ploy's on her is because her res stat is pretty....not high. Her resistance is 29 with a resistance boon. It's much better on someone with super high resistance for higher chances of success in activating the Ploy.

Fury makes it 31 which is high, just look at that picture I attached

Also not really I mean it's just like how Fjorm is free but She's also in the banners to buy. Why buy something when she's free is the same exact situation only the shoe is on the other foot

Fjorm's situation is different from Gunnthra's.

Fjorm started off as free, and if you wanted more of her, you could try to pull for her in the legendary b8% banners.

Gunnthra started off, and has always been, in banners. She's never been free, so the only way to get her is to actually spend in game currency (and some people spent real money) to get her because the ONLY way to get her was from banners.

To make a character that started off as being costly into being a free unit would cause a lot of rage from the people that spent orbs and/or real money to get her.

Also, on her Resistance. 31 isn't necessarily all that high, in my opinion. I mean... I guess it gets the job done for a lot of units, but to reliably get a ploy off, in my opinion, it has to be higher than 31. Could be my insecurities, but... eh, seems like a lot of the units that you could hit with Ploy would get molly-whopped by her anyway since the res stat is so low.

If you're really that worried about her res, she does come out of the box with Fortress Res meaning she'd have 33 res, which again, is rather high as there aren't alot of units that have that much more than that (highest Res Cap rn is only 36) which is not a big deal if you have say Eirika, Ephraim and B!Lucina right next to her at the start of the turn which gets the ploy off on those few units that might beat her in res. And besides even if they did have more Res, I can pretty much guarantee they have low enough defense to get hit with Chilling Seal anyways so they are still getting debuffed which makes Her hit harder against them anyways.

Also No. Fjorm's first banner kicked off on the same day she was available for free so actually doesn't quite apply my friend. And I mean she's a unit in the story that's on your side, hard to not see Gunnthrá eventually being free.
Also, I don't see why people would be upset when those that have her already can now Merge her or maybe fodder her for skills if they are whales/Dolphins that have enough of her as is, and those that didn't get her before would be able to obtain her.

That's exactly my thought. Debuffing 4 stats and buffing Blizzard all by herself is something to consider. Arvis, Lute and Smoke Daggers are her best friends, too.

Not a lot of people have her, and if they do some have probably opted for the bladetome set. But yeah, didn't really use her all that much until the tempest, and giving her the def ploy stat ensures that she can debuff all stats, and if the unit that gets all four debuffs gets attacked by her, they ded.

And for added ded-ness could also buff all four of her stats with say an Eirika, Ephraim, B!Lucina or PA!Azura in addition to those debuffs, pretty much almost 80×2 Attack everytime

I use her. She's one of my Arena Assault "Wind Team". Between Ploy boy Arvis, windsweep Jafar, and a blue dancer with buffs. She blows up anything in her path.

Was actually quite surprised of her power myself, -spd+res. Ploys activate often, and her B-slot is already +12 dmg.

How's this for power? This is the result of trying to get the two seasonal green units with her CONSTANTLY showing up and screwing my appearance rate every time. She's a Res+/HP-, so her Ploys are next to impossible to sneak away from.

I'm using my +Res Gunnthrá in the Tempest Trials at the moment and, while she is buffed as a bonus untit, I'm finding her pretty effective. She runs distant Defence seal to better handle baiting mages but outwith the trials a a final plot could be a good.

On a side note, when Chilling Seal is targeting Shiro on turn 1, you're on a map with a lot of defence. She killed everything.
