Delthea is rated 5/5, and yet Mae is only 3.5/5, Why?

I just wanna point out that Delthea and Mae have almost the exact same stats, if you received a +spd -def Mae, you really can't tell a difference between her and a neutral Delthea. I know that having a +spd Delthea is truly what makes her in another league than Mae, but thats like saying without a +spd nature Delthea, she is low on the tier list. Basically I just wanna know if its worth getting a Delthea, when you can get a Mae, and why Mae's rating is so low compared to Delthea.

Delthea has an amazing personal Tome and base kit is better. Plus those extra points in Speed make all the difference.

Because people account the units base kit into the mix. Not entirely sure why when everyone goes on about all units being "good" when given skills from Skill Inheritance, but...ya know. Why not?

because those 3 speed are a big difference, if you talk about a +spd mae you should also be talkin about a +spd delthea. also delthea has a legendary tome with a strong effect, and maes tome is by far not as good as that.

Almost all units have the potential to be strong. Tier lists and ratings don't really matter unless you're trying to be Tier 20 Arena every week.

That being said, hero rating takes into account more than just stats. It also looks at cost effectiveness and base kit. Delthea is hard to get, but for Mae to reach her full power, she's EXPENSIVE. She has Desperation, which is about the best part of her kit for her naturally. Owl tomes are tricky to maximize power, especially compared to Blade tomes. She gets Draw Back rather than an Offense skill, so that adds a little bit of cost. She has a Valor C-skill, so more cost for the fact that she has only one combat viable passive skill.

Now, Delthea has a ridiculously good legendary weapon (Hone Melee Atk, anybody?), which means she doesn't need the infusion of Blarblade+. She comes with Death Blow and Drive Atk 2. Both of those are great skills, especially with her kit. So she's a hell of a lot cheaper.

Tl;dr: Mae is only "better" because she's easier to high merge, she takes a lot more effort to make actually better than Delthea.

Don't pay attention to the unit ratings, it really doesn't mean anything. I am consistently top 1k in T20 with 3 rating units. When you start to add skill inheritance, seals and weapon refinery into the mix the lines become blurred. Any unit can be decent at +10.

Those rating isn't exactly about how good an unit though?
It's about how hard to use an unit, i.e. giving a good skill, maximizing their iv, utilizing them on a team, of course their stat is also considered.
