He did say half-year account, so I think he (I'm assuming "he", correct me if I'm wrong) is worried about losing/missing out on limited units. The CYL 1 and 2 should still be available for new players, and if you didn't like who you chose you can rechoose them. Also if there are particular non-seasonal/legendary characters you liked, I would recommend a practice called "rerolling", which is rerunning the tutorial/some free orbs until you get what you want. You can also keep the 1/2* characters for meme purposes and showing off, as many players foddered/sent home those ones.

Lastly, I would recommend linking your new account to Nintendo as they advised in some tutorial somewhere so you don't accidentally delete it. You also get a few minor rewards.

If you don't want to keep playing that's okay, I've felt that way about the occasional mobile game (looking at you, SAO:MD). Wish you the best of luck with future endeavors.
